Sale at the Cow Palace (San Francisco, March 2-4)

just heard this on the radio, there's going to be a huge sale at the cow palace this weekend (march 2-4). all hyped up, stuff like shoes, clothes, watches, electronics, etc. starting from $5 (all name brand too). probably mostly junk, but i'm sure deals are to be had if you look hard enough. gonna check it out anyway, maybe find some basketball shoes for myself.

probably an admission charge + parking.
this is the only link i could find. anyone have any more info?

Trust me, its not worth it. Fairgrounds sales like this usually sell second hand clothes and copycat brands of no-quality electronics. You know how some brands of crossovers like to look and be called like those of top brands. Well on one of these sales I saw a crossover(or was it amplifier...) made by a company named PenWood....trying to plagiarize off Kenwood(which is not of the greatest quality itself)

No way man, if you don't go, you'd be missing out on quality "Kenford" and "Rockwood" radios! Seriously tho, I agree with the above...unless you are looking for "just a radio" or "just clothes", avoid this "sale".

these are factory outlet sales basically, but this one theyre calling it the brilliantbuy.com closeout sale since brilliantbuy.com went bankrupt (never heard of them before though). but its a waste of time, i've been to one of these before, ended buying gummy bears, lol, wasnt cheap either, just had the craving.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I don't know if they use those
shouting announcers anymore for these events, but in the old
daze when I lived in the SF area (before some of you were
borned, Iz sure), they were always having Monster Truck Rallies
and the like at the Cow Palace, and the tag line for all the
radio spots was the announcer shouting the above.

yeah, the cow palace seems to host a wide variety of events. anything from monster truck rallies to christian gatherings to rice rocket/hoochie car shows. one fine example of the diversity in the california bay area.

True, the Cow Palace has hosted a variety of events. I have seen San Jose Sharks games (before their arena in SJ was finished), the short-lived San Francisco Spiders IHL hockey team, various computer shows, etc.

I believe in the old days, the GS Warriors games and tennis events were also held here. Now, you can see rodeo and dog show events, the circus, and some other odd things.

yeah, theres NEVER any deals at these shows...

I only go there sometimes when they have Comp Sale, price seems reasonable.
