Here is a tip : Start using a browser with popup suppression.

as much as I like opera, I can't advocate it based on pop up blocking abilities. Opera is subpar when it comes to adblocking even with the addon.

I was wondering how pop up blocking works.
If a webpage is flash based, and the ads are also part of that flash, how can a given browser distinguish between relevant code and code that is used for ads ?
I have no knowledge about this at all. Nor do i want to become a web page builder. But i am interested how those blocking mechanisms function.

Is there just some code that is labeled "commercial" ?
Are there standard labels for it ?


I do have noticed that i do not get a popup at home. But i do get a popup at work.
I have a popup suppressor at home but not at work.
