Looks sweet, but has absolutely no ports. When will the race to have the thinnest tab step aside so we can actually have the most practical and useful tab?

I'm looking forward to the Toshiba tab that has a full size SD slot, miniUSB, full size USB, full size HDMI.

This is true, but I really don't see how it is beneficial to have zero (other than 3.5mm and miniUSB) ports at all.

It seems like they just wanted to say they had the thinnest tablet out, and bank on that selling for them.

When does the Toshiba tab come out? Saw it earlier, didn't know it sported all those though....any rumors on pricing and such? Might be looking at that instead of the Transformer...

The AT review is not exactly glowing. Just another tablet seems to be the verdict. Not bad but not great either. I'm rather disappointed.

Seems like the biggest issue may still be Honeycomb stability, or perhaps some of the apps themselves were just overly buggy.

lets hope they keep coming out with new ones. all these android tabs are just building up in warehouses and at some point in the near future they are going to have to dump them for $100

That would not be good for Android manufacturers. First of all, they would have to sell their stock for a pretty heavy loss considering that most of these devices are at least $200 to manufacture. Second, it would saturate the market with devices and people who had been considering a new Android tablet would just pick up an old one for $100, causing a vicious cycle where no company could easily sell a large quantity of new Android tablets.

I really don't understand the Schadenfreude that exists in so many Apple/Android fans. It's almost as though they're much less happy about the cool features their own company is coming out with and are much more interested in seeing someone else fail or have problems.

Personally I think the Android tablet market bottoming out it is way worse for consumers. Sure they'll get cheap devices, but the overall market will stagnate and Apple won't feel much competitive pressure or need to continue producing good updates to their tablets. It'll be another repeat of the 90s where MS just sat around because no one could compete with them.

Eh? The decent ones have sold pretty well. If I'm not mistaken, the Asus Transformer sold out, and is still hard to find. Thats not exactly building up in a warehouse.

People want Android tablets, they just don't want them at 700 dollar prices and with data contracts. The sub-500 dollar Samsung Tabs, Asus, and Acer models get much closer to what the consumer is willing to pay.

No kidding. Moto *might* have gotten people to bite if they'd shipped with lightning-fast Verizon LTE, but they've failed so badly on that front that it looks like Samsung will actually beat them to that market.

Android early adopters tend to be power users who can tether to their phones. It took Google a while to sign off on wifi-only Androids though.

The transformer sold out because they aren't manufacturing enough to meet demand. They are soon supposed to start manufacturing 300,000 per month rather than the 10,000 they are manufacturing now.

$100 for a Honeycomb tablet? Lol.

The freaking Gtab still sells for over $200...

From a review video I watched on the transformer. Numbers could have been wrong. But I do believe they plan on ramping up production in the coming months.

Supposedly the Toshiba Thrive will have be $429 for 8gb. Considering it has a full SD card slot, that isn't bad at all. Easily upgradeable. Drops sometime in July.

i dont think they are selling even at 500. i think people are picking them up mostly when they are cleared out at places like office depot for 250 or by the carriers for 200

I am a bit disappointed in no USB/HDMI/SDCard on the tab, so I am leaning towards the Transformer. Played with the Tab at the mall, the screen is great, device feels really good in hand. But think they could have fit mini ports on it without increasing the size or distracting from the overall design too much. Then again, I am not an industrial designer, so maybe it's not as easy as I think.
