Seems like a good monitor at a good price. Any comments?

Saw that and wanted to post that earlier.

I personally think it's a great monitor. Although I can;t find the specs online, i suppose it should be the same as 172T, which has won quite a bit of fame on benchmarks...

JFYI, no DVI. Also, AFAIK, the 171x series is one generation behind the 172T.

Not bad, but if you have some patience go non-OEM (i.e. rebagged) Samsung and you can grab one for around $300.

Its my impression that you'll have to wait awhile, since the 1x1-T series (digital) is about the best LCD around. See the review on Anandtech, and tomshardware. BTW you can get all the specs you want on the Samsung site.

Yah, the 171S has the same specs as the 170s which I have, got it from Sams for $386 after $30 rebate. Great monitor, I bought it for my wife's computer and to take to lan parties. No ghosting on any games that I have seen. Best Buy has the 171V for $399 after $100 rebate which has the same specs too.

I'm really looking for a rebadged 152t or 172t, as I have read reviews and seen that these are way better than the older 151t or 171t's.

There are VPI's that best buy sells as their cheap product...after doing some research...I found out they are made by samsung...and use the same parts. The VPI's though cost much less...so if having the name samsung on the panel important then it is a pretty good deal, but if it isn't look into getting the VPI models, from best buy.

Do you mean "vpr." Many of us got them for around $300 several weeks ago - after HUGE rebates though.
