The Samsung site says it uses a DynaFlat IFT tube, and it is a shadow mask monitor.

I got this monitor a few weeks ago with the BFL 20% off rebate + the $30 off MIR for something like $240. I have to say, it's no Trinitron, but for the price (anything under $300) it's real nice. It's been running 1280x1024x16bpp beautifully, and from what I've seen the text is really clear. I'm really pleased... well worth the $$$....

Don't worry about the quality of this monitor. It is superb. People complaining about it either got a defect or are way too anal.

This must be either a new or obscure model because I could not find reviews on PCWorld, CNET nor ZDNet.

However I did find that two reviewers at Epinions.com gave this monitor a not to shabby 4 out of 5 rating

I ended up buying the model up from this badboy.. the 900nf. I've heard it is superior to the 955df in a number of ways, with the spec sheet listing a few obvious things like refresh rate at higher resolutions, etc. All I can say is that this monitor is nothing less than amazing, and has renewed my interest in the stagnating computer scene

Hey Guys

This is the lowdown on this monitor. I do not consider myself too anal of a persoon, but I do reasonable pay attention to details. I got his monitor from Onvia a couple of months ago. the quality of aprts seems superior. BUT, these monitors are VERY POORLY ADJUSTED BY THE FACTORY. Teh workmanship sucks!!! I did a total of 5 RMAs with Onvia (thank god they don;t charge from shipping). Ended up keeping #4. The first had the image along the left edge of the monitor squeezed in the horisontal direction (so the Start button was actually much narrower; the vertical linearity only is adjustable - not horizontal. The second monitor had the same problem. The third was fine, but had weird magnetic spots (discolorations) int he four corners that I could not get rid of. The fourth was not as squeezed, but he focus was off along the edges of the monitor. The fifth was totally out of focus.

So, I got tired of RMAing, and just kep the fourth one. ihope I will find someone that can adjust it. Otherwise, contrast-wise it is not bad. I am running at 1280/1024 resolution. Just wish the focus was better.

Guys, I came to the conclusion that it is cheap for a reason. I guess if youa re not gonna be this picky, it would be OK. For very well adjested monitors- I ehard LG Electronics is good. I GUARANTEE that will have problems with this. However, i also would liek to mention that Samsung makes very good prodcts overall. I just think taht the particular samsung factory/contractor which makes these monitors does avery poor job of adjusting them!
