Best Buy has an Advent TV with very similar specs to the Samsung TXM2091F.

Advent 20" TV Model: Q2035A

Here's the specs:

Flat picture tube for reduced glare and picture distortion

Comb filter removes unwanted visual artifacts, cleaning up the picture

Component video input provides the best-possible connection to a DVD player

2 A/V inputs (1 front and 1 rear with S-video) make it easy to connect to other components (like video-game systems and camcorders)

1 coaxial RF input

Headphone output

Trilingual menu (English, French and Spanish)

Silver cabinet

Universal remote

I'm not a huge TV buff and don't pretend to be. I have no idea if this is the 3 line digital comb filter or not. I also have no idea if it does a 16x9 squeeze like the Samsung does. It does have S-Video, Component inputs, and a/v inputs. Looks to be a great deal at $200 shipped!

I have no geometry problems on this TV and the picture is pretty damn awesome. It is not as good as the Sony Wegas, but it is close enough at a much more affordable cost. These Samsung Flatscreens are much more of a bang for your buck.

The Daewoo at Sam's is not bad. My buddy has one, but it does not have as many features although the silver casing looks great. Personally, I'd rather have my TV say Saumsung than Daewoo. His TV had some distortion at the top of his TV. I'm not sure if it was caused by the center channel he put on top of it (most likely it was).

I don't know why anyone would want to use the 16:9 squeeze or the digital comb filter. The 16:9 makes the screen smaller than it already is, and the filter makes everything fuzzy instead of razor sharp.

Anyone have any useful purposes for these features? SVideo in is a nice feature for playing some games on your TV from your computer tho.

CircuitCity has the 20" Apex Flat Screen Stereo TV priced for $190 with free shipping. Search "GT2015"(ripped from the great XP bargains )
Now which one to buy ???? The Samsung 20-inch Flat-Screen TV TXM2090F for $199.91 at Wally World looks nice too but not sure if its avaible at the B&M .Now what would you do

Hmm. I'm currently deciding between the Samsung and Apex AT2002S 20-inch Stereo TV at compusa. The Apex looks like a damn nice tv since it has 3 A/V inputs and an S-Video input. It also looks pretty good in grey, and it's flatter than ALL 20" non-flat tubes I've seen.

For $199, it's hard to beat, but then again the Samsung for $80 more is flat and is a more reputable brand. I'm leaning towards the Apex though, for $119 it's a steal.

Just added that to my cart to see the difference vs picking it up at Frys B&M.

subtotal $149.90
coupon -$0.00
tax $12.37
ground delivery
(via Airborne Express) $34.49
total $196.76

Saves me about $20 by ordering online. Tempting, but the Apex has my name on it.

If I could print out the $149 price from my cart, and have Fry's B&M pricematch it, I'd go for the Samsung w/o question.

Also, I'm pretty sure they will honor the online price for those looking to buy it online, at least for the first few (hundred?) orders, since $50 isn't THAT much of a difference.

I got my XP 2000+ that way.

This is great! I ordered at $166 shipped. My wife is gonna kill me, but that is another story. This has to be a price mistake. I think that this is an excellent deal for the money.

THIS IS ON FIRE! FOR $149.90 + Shipping. Why is this not getting more response?

This Samsung is well worth my $200.

If anyone is looking for a TV/DVD combo, Costco has a 20" Toshiba I think (I forgot what brand) with a build-in DVD player for $250.

Do a search for Sony in the Off Topic forum.

My 32" Wega died after about 18 months. It's out of warranty to. Was going to cost $500 to get Sony to look at it.

Sony is well known to make some of the most unreliable electronics.
I used to repair electronics, and almost everything I have is Sony because I'd buy broken electronics for cheap and repair them.

Anything Sony that I bought new, eventually needed repair as well.

I've had a Sony Wega 27" (the low-end version) for the past 2 years (bought in Summer of 2000). It's survived without incident in a college apartment with 5 other roommates. Knock on wood.

I am sure everyone knows this, but this deal is apparently DEAD. I called directly to check before ordering, and Jason said the TV is out of stock, discontinued, and they won't be getting anymore in.

2-years, lol!
My parents have an OLD 25" Magnavox TV built in 1975 that still works!
It has an ultrasonic remote control, onscreen display with digital clock, and everything. It was pretty high tech for 1975.

Any TV that can't make it past 10-yrs, is IMO, not reliable.
