If you want this particular LCD then its hot. However, many would probably argue that you should go for a different 23/24" LCD deal (most likely a Dell or something) for a couple hundred less...

It was a lame analogy anyway since Hyundai has had cars in the top rankings for customer satisfaction and reliability for the last few years.

Last time I drove Hyndai rental couple of weeks ago, I am very impressed with their quality, finish and ride comfort.

No, No, No, No.. that's like 10 years ago.

Samsung stopped supplying Dell very long time ago.
Dell then switched to Taiwanese manufacturers.

Now most of Dell monitors are using Chinese panels.

You'll now need to pay top dollars to buy Korean or Taiwanese panels...

WRONG.. The Dell I bought in February has a Samsung panel. (Define "very long time ago"...)

Dell does still use Samsung panels, however it doesn't necessarily mean they use the same panel as Samsung uses in their own monitors (case in point, the 2405FPW being over a year old compared to Samsung's newest 24" LCDs don't use the same panel).

Saying this isn't hot doesn't really make sense if its a couple hundred dollars cheaper than anywhere else. Yes there are other 24" monitors you can get for less money, but that doesn't mean they're equal (it doesn't mean they're worse either though).

As for the Ferrari Hyundai comparison, it makes no sense. I assume you were trying to compare quality, but Ferrari is not known for their quality, but rather their performance. In this case its more like comparing a European Honda Accord to a United States spec Honda Accord. They're pretty similar, but often look quite different and sometimes have different internals. In a case like the thread about the new NEC 20" to the $300 20", it would be like comparing Volkswagen to Porsche.

I do not think the infomation is correct.

I have 2405FPW and the manual says its panel manufactured in China by a
company called Tatung. No single word mentioned about Samsung.

When I purchased it, I looked up all the manuals of 19"-24", non of their panels
were made in Korea or Samsung except FPW 2005 which panel was made in
Korea by LG. So I can confirm FPW 2005's panel is made by LG but not others.

Samsung also supports HDCP. Which not a lot of monitors due. And plus this makes the monitor future proof.

i bought this monitor a few months ago. the input lag was absolutely horrendous. do not plan on doing any fast paced gaming with this monitor, or really anything else that requires the image on the screen to be less than 50ms behind what the video card is sending out.
