i use this exact monitor at work and its great. im only posting this because people were drooling over this one and the samsung is a better monitor IMO

two things that the doublesight have that the samsung doesnt though:

1) samsung not height adjustable

And, for those of you who say fine...TN is fine...I just bought a 2433 Sammy and I can see a big shift in color and brightness simply looking side to side. You don't have to be 172 degrees away. The vista taskbar is grayish from dead center and black if you lower your head 4 inches from center. So, if you are spending $400 (vs $260 like me) drop and extra few bills and go with a better panel.

I just went from a PVA panel (the Viewsonic vx2025wm) to a TN panel (the Samsung 240HD), and while there is a difference in color replication, it's honestly not worth the price premium to a non TN panel monitor.

Several years ago when I got my viewsonic there was a multitude of display types at reasonable prices. Today, those prices on those other panels haven't dropped nearly as much and aren't worth it to me.

I own and IPS and a TN panel plus a giant CRT projector. They all have their uses. The TN is the bottom of the barrel but it's cheap and works great for gaming. If you're looking for a big TN panel, I'd recommend the Hanns G 28" over this. It's roughly the same picture quality but you're getting more area for your buck. $392 is simply too much for a 25.5" TN panel.

If you got the Amazon deal last week for $440+$100 rebate, after the price difference the final price would be $230 for a great LCD + HD tuner + remote control!

I have the 2693, which seems to be the same panel.. got it for 350 at BB a few months back. Great monitor for the price... I watch blu ray and play PC/PS3 games on it.

Sure the colors aren't perfect and there is some backlight bleed but its great for 350 bucks.

NO tuner...
It does have speakers... but... I guess right now I have been using a Westinghouse 24inch monitor as a TV. I have an HDMI dvd-player hooked up to it, and a Digital Cable box....
There is a definite need for a remote, in regards to turning the TV off and on...and controling the volume.
