Forget benchmarks and latency.
a 830 and a 840 you will not see difference IMO. period. I mean you already have 0ms access time , the rest is bulk transfer I mean ok maybe the 840 is newer product has better controller to make this Samsung generation SSD bullet proof. I believe in that. But I dont believe in a speed difference between these two SSDs. Heck you wouldnt know if I swapped a Crucial M4 , thats 0ms as well , same sh*T just samsung 512GB is over priced compared to M4. Soo I wanted a Samsung 830 but it was exaactly 700 dollars LOL to the door step. Im like wait a minute I cant spend this kind of money alto I understand the importance of it. Turns out to be the best upgrade Ive ever made in my life with PC's for over 25 years. I had to grab the 512GB version cuz I wanted everything on one SSD period, so I can do system backup image on my external 500GB. plus I can have as many games as I want right now 14 installed, all my data my DAW and I have 160GB free, feels good. Turns out I saw Crucial beat Samsung in a Windows 7 bootup test at toms hardware which is as legit as anand. 16.3 seconds,,, sammy 17.8 and Intel 18.5 ........ALso I love the firmware updates Im getting because this SSD just keeps on getting faster and faster,,,,,,, 010G seemed like a put a turbo boost on the drive,,,,, much quicker,,, I noticed certaini things certain apps, how long they took and saw how much quicker then came up with 010G ... Im a fan of firmware BIOS, beta, you name it gl
