I bought the Iiyama visionmaster pro 450 19" for $350.00 from their website refurb. IMO a great deal on a great monitor.

Lxi: I think you are wrong about the IBM P96. It and the Sony G400 are the only FD Trinitrons with dual inputs. I seriously doubt IBM re-engineered it themselves.

<<I'm not the one implying one product is better than the other you are by your general statements.>>

Why must I re-explain the same thing over and over again? I get tired of telling people why this and why that repeatedly, so please understand.

<<Have you done a side by side comparison of these two products? Until you do how can you say one is better than the other? Have you taken both units apart and did an analysis of the construction, components and connectors, solder quality, etc. I can go on. I guess you have reviewed every monitor Samsung produces. >>

Yes I have seen them side by side, I never stated who is better, Im just saying the Samsung is approximately 30% cheaper than Iiyama and offers approximately the same guts. And of coures Im not crazy enough to go as far as taking them apart, but I can tell you that these two monitors are similar in many ways.

<<I have no problem with your explanation of the facts as far as the specifications go and if you had put this analysis in your original post I would not have said anything. I have no interest in Iiyama products, in fact I sell Samsung products but I will defend any manufacturer from general hype. >>

Let's just keep it simple, I know what Im talking about, I dont BS and I dont make blanket statements that I have no proof behind, "anything I said I'm willing to backup" - Ali. It's just that I dont feel like explaining it until the question is raised, that's my style of posting.

Midnight Rambler:

You claim that the IBM and the Sony are twins just because they both have dual inputs? We need more proof than just a common feature.

No they're not the same monitor, but(a BIG but) the difference is minor, besides the useless USB hub and that pair of cheesy speakers anyway.

Well from the pics I've seen of the IBM P96 and the Sony G400 they look totally different. However they both do have an attached video cable and a connector for another one.

From IBM's website:
"Supplied with an attached video-signal cable. A signal-cable adapter is supplied to allow connection to PC systems with a 15-pin D-shell video-output connector. An additional 15-pin D-shell video connector is provided."
From Sony's website:
"Input Connector
Captive 15 pin mini D-sub and 15 pin mini D-sub"

I vote Samsung. I own a Samsung SyncMaster 955DF and I love it! I'm sure their other models rock as well.

Another vote for the Samsung 900NF. It is such a great monitor for it's price. There is a $30 MIR rebate going on right now if ya didn't know.
