I don't think many people have actually. As it stands, there are a grand total of zero reviews of this monitor, so it would be great if you could share your thoughts or even do some synthetic tests.

These should be done with DVI operating at native resolution and 60 Hz. Frankly 75 Hz usually isn't a problem but it can introduce some issues like more blurring. Brightness/contrast settings don't need to be modified for these tests. TN LCDs are expected to have problems with these tests so I'd just like to see if the case is the same with the 931C.

If you maximize the window and stare at this pattern for 20 seconds, can you see any moving noise anywhere in the image? Also, do you see any variations of color or kinks throughout what's supposed to be gray? (For this one it may be a good idea to turn off dynamic contrast or Samsung MagicContrast as it can exacerbate problems.) Do you notice a difference in the image besides brightness when switching between the color profiles Samsung gives you (games, movies, text, etc)? For example does the gaming one introduce a lot of bands in the gradient?

Can you describe precisely what you see when you move this in a diagonal pattern (particularly trails of any kind, big or small, light or dark)?

It would be helpful if you could do those. Thanks.

I'm interested in this panel as well, mainly because of the high contrast and greater color gamut. I was originally leaning towards http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824001081 to get into the widescreen market, but if the 931C is a good monitor, I'll have to forego widescreen for a few more years

On a similar note, Newegg has removed the 931C... any idea why? My guess is quantity, as Samsung's site doesn't list any notion to remove this product from their line.

cant speak Danish..............I got mine from newegg, I just happened to get up early last sunday morning around 8 am eastern and was looking at it again and it was available, a few hours later it was gone........
I am no expert on monitors but there is a big difference between it and my old DCL lcd 19 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824211008, it is alot crisper, brighter and colorful picture.
The only problem I've had is flickering in games. I dont know if its the monitor or hardware related. I ran into some problems with my new build "asus p5b deluxe, C2D e6600, evga 7900gt, corsair xms2 memory and 250gb seagate baracuda 7200.10 HD.
I got all the problems sorted out now and doing a fresh install. I will let you all know how it turns out.

I read the LCD guide recommendation for the Samsung 940BF and was wondering how it stands compared to this one (considering the limited info of course).

I'm not going to recommend the 931C until it gets a solid reputation (there's new technology within). Right now, there are few reviews of it. Don't let the wide color gamut fool you into thinking this is a photo editing monitor. It still dithers and frankly with such a wide gamut and such a low precision (6-bit), it may not even be able to produce traditional '72% gamut' colors that we're used to. You can see on the flatpanels.dk review that the calibration was awful at best (look at the second chart). Since I can't read Danish, I couldn't tell you for sure if that was the "after calibration" chart, but that's my best guess given my readings of their other reviews. The high color difference on the 931C's chart should tell you that almost any other TN is better than the 931C for photo editing, if you can say TNs are good for photo editing at all.

To be fair, they never marketed it as a photo editing monitor, but I just thought some would be curious as to what the extra color gamut really does. I'm sure it's a great gaming LCD.

Now obviously there are photo editing monitors with wide gamuts (100%+ via LED), but they also have a 10-bit color system.

Thanks xtknight. I wasn't acctually considering it for photo editing monitor more like games and regular desk work . I was set on the 940BF when someone mentioned the new 931C which specs, at least on paper, seemed quite nice. So in you opinion better to stick with the proven BF940?

I saw this monitor yesterday at Digital Life in New York at the Alienware booth where they were displaying a Battlefield 2142 tournament. This monitor is GORGEOUS! The colors were so vibrant and the viewing angle was terrfic. It made me envious and looking at my current Acer monitor, I feel empty...

Yup, since there aren't any English pro reviews of the 931C.
