I got mine from the Gateway Accessory Store (previous hot deal for this monitor). I ordered it May 28th and it was backordered until it shipped on June 18 (last Monday). I actually got it very fast after it shipped. Looking at the packing list, I'd say it's the same distributor as buy.com and ships from the same warehouse (I'm guessing TechData).

I would have rather bought it from buy.com and saved myself the $13 of sales tax though. That and buy.com has free return shipping for defective items which the Gateway store makes you eat shipping even if it's defective.

Geez.. I didn't know that this deal would be this hot. I posted it a few days ago when I was looking to PM to get a deal on a Samsung 753 at Staples. If I thought it was this hot, I would've done a big post on it.

I agree, I think someone above (maybe you) mentioned horror stories of shipping a bad KDS monitor for $40 a pop? No thanks.

I was at Best Buy and compared this monitor to the FD Trinitron KDS and Viewsonic monitors that were next to it. The FD Trinitron was much brighter, better color saturation, and sharper.

However, now that I have a 955DF, I really think the picture is quite good. I don't know if mine has better picture than the display unit at Best Buy, but it really seems to.

You can't get an FD Trinitron for $250 shipped though. At least no one has posted one yet.

Man, I just bought a CTX 19" trinitron for $370, Wish I would have waited get this for the cheaper price instead; even if it's not as sharp. Great monitor, My friend had one. Oh well I guess you can't win all the time.:frown:

It was my understanding the Buy.com $30 off $300 coupon and free shipping both expired on June 20, 2001 at 12:00 PM PST midnight. Yes you can still order the monitor today but in order to get in on this deal you only had 1 hour left at the time of my posting.

Just recieved the 955DF yesterday and it looks great. The negative reviews on this board had me worried a bit but I don't notice anything bad about it. Played unreal tourn with it just fine.

The one I saw at Best Buy I wasn't impressed by, but it had been there a long time (since last year at least).
Mine was manufactured May 2001. It didn't have any of the yellow splotches or severe geometry problems that others have mentioned in the past.

I got this around 2 months ago from the Gateway Accessories store (with a coupon the price was $275, $20 MIR brought it down to $255...hehe, just sent the rebate out last week ). Great monitor, I can't understand anyone not liking it
