DO NOT GET A SAMSUNG PHONE!!!!!!!

DO NOT GET A SAMSUNG PHONE!!!!!!!
Nice pinch gesture lag at 2:24, i can't believe this still exists on dual core cpu + gingerbread.

So, who's actually going to buy this? You know full well you'll likely never get an OS update, that the GPS will be flakey at best, and that the solution will be to buy another phone in 6 months.
I would for sure but my contract still has a long way. Really I could care less if Samsung or any manufacturer releases shitty official updates, I'd download custom roms either way. So far the Galaxy phones have been much more friendly to custom roms then the locked bootloaders of Motorola for example. So, who's actually going to buy this? And the GPS on my Fascinate works just fine because there was an update to fix it. I didn't have to by a new phone....
You'd be silly to think that Samsung isn't going to make sure they don't repeat the same issue again.

Your choice. Just remember, you're supporting their shitty business practices by continuing to buy their products. Even though you rely on the community to support them for you.
On the bolded, this is what people said about the Galaxy S line after the Moments and Beholds received no updates and had broken GPSs as well. Third time's a charm?
Edit - Oh, I'm not going to defend Motorola either. Their locked bootloaders are major deal breakers for me. However, they do at least support their high end phones with OS updates. Puts them one step above Samsung in the toilet bowl.
So it's a larger screen with the same resolution? FAIL.
Looks like Android devices are gonna need a mobile i5 processor to not run laggy. Pretty amazing that having a dual core doesn't seem to help much at all.
It's 100% smooth save for that one instance.
there's hiccups left and right too. sometimes handcent takes ages to load. sometimes the os just gets all bogged down when trying to pickup a call while browsing the web for example...
Engadget mentioned this in their Nexus One review and their Nexus S review.
We had those screens from last year, this is 2011 now, i'd expect nothing less than qhd like moto is releasing. Why would it be fail? We already have 4.3" screens with the same rez.
It will always have lag no matter how fast the CPU gets until Android gets graphic acceleration.
One thing to note is how badly the added UI's from the manufacturers mess up Android's responsiveness. It will always have lag no matter how fast the CPU gets until Android gets graphic acceleration.
