NFC or LED notification...Which is more important? :hmm:
NFC (confirmation, btw, was by *the* Samsung Android developer, supercurio)

Actually, neither is that important: NFC can be handled with a sticker, and every custom kernel will have BLN as a replacement for dedicated LED. BLN = awesome

Bigger screen is a disappointment. AT&T got the best US version with the least molested phone.

why on earth would bigger be worse?

to me that is a HUGE bonus.

larger screen = easier to read for us old folks. and much easier to do RDP and server work from my phone.

why would you want to use NFC on a freaking sticker? unsecure and doesnt use ANY of the functionality of the phone..

NFC with hardware is awesome.. the rest of the world has been using it for purchases for years..

the USA is so far behind on crap like this..
Google Wallet is amazing if you have a phone that supports it.

Don't know about you, but I'm playing with my phone every time I'm in a checkout line anyway.

Mad Libs time!

:awe:

..though it just sounds like a huge disaster to me if you lose your phone. the benefit I see is not carrying around a cc, but now everything is on your phone. One thing to lose = losing everything. ugh...

...and how are you going to call all those companies to cancel the cards when you lose your phone?

The only thing that I "get" about this is that it looks cool.

I'm more interested in the zero-click sharing using NFC that Google was talking about at their last Google I/O.

no more stupid cards for each place you go...
loyalty cards etc is automatically transmitted as are other offers.

credit cards are insecure as it is.. it uses a virtual card that is tied to your accounts. or it can use one of your regular cards..

already in place in most places I visit.. any place that has the mastercard paypass which is a TON of places can use it.

awesome technology.. and the rest of the world has been using it for almost a decade...

Not me.
a.) I'm too busy reading news(Time, Newsweek, etc...) along tabloid magazines at the rack.
b.) I'm too busy inspecting what other people have in their carts and trying to judge them based on that giving them the squinted evil eye look.
c.) I'm too busy searching for the shortest line possible or new checkout line openings.

Those are what I usually do when in the checkout line. I've never taken the phone out before unless I'm calling/recieving/sending a phone call/text message but then again, maybe it's because I don't have a smart phone.

I don't like to feel tied to a little digital nothing in my pocket... :hmm:

....

anyway, I like to take the opportunities when I am out and about to actually be out and about, not have yet another little screen flashing images in front of my face. :\

let us know when you actually get a real phone if your view changes..

I do all that but instead of reading the crappy magazines I'm posting on ATOT from the phone instead.

I think what you are referring to, however, is a multimedia device that happens to make phone calls, as well.

BLN doesn't replace LED to me though. Sometimes BLN lights up randomly on my Nexus S though rare. False alarms. How do I tell the difference between a text and email? LED colors help with that. I used to have a color for gmail, work email, twitter, Facebook, and texts, and low battery on my Motorola Milestone.

Does the paid BLN app allow you to blink certain buttons only? Say the Home button? Or the search button only? Or two buttons? That would be cool to tell the difference between different notifications.

NFC is overrated. Ok, so you can swipe your phone across. What if you want to pick a credit card? I use a certain card for gas, a certain card for groceries, certain card for shopping. I'd have to go into my Wallet app and pick a card. Might as well pick a card from my wallet just as fast. Plus, the problems of losing your phone become multiplied by 100x now that your CC is linked to it.

Honestly, credit cards are DAMN fast already, especially with stores like Target getting the message that you shouldn't have to sign the damn transaction everytime for small purchases. I don't really see the NFC advantage here. Plus, knowing the US, adoption will be slow as fuck.

This. NFC is way overrated (to me).

btw, how do you get different color LED notices on the original Droid?

I use my phone to call people and complain about people on line in front of me trying to figure out how to use their phone for purchases.

My brother lives in Japan which has tons of NFC stuff already and said it's just more convenient, can swipe your phone over something to get more info about it like an advertisement, or share things with other phones by just swiping them close together, and of course the payments as well. It's more than just payments.

Kinda debating the same thing, hard to tell when all I hear is these loud Verizon fanboys going on and on about LTE or bust.

I have Verizon also and their LTE is unrivaled. I used their MiFi and it's darn near amazing.

But they have no SSGII and I don't know if I am inclined to get the Bionic. Kind of partial to the SSGII.

I have an Atrix on ATT and it's pretty fast, I must say. I'm addicted to them all. But when I get them I find that they all to do the same stuff. Make calls, text, browse web, and play Angry Birds.

I have the obligatory iPhone on Verizon because I have like 30GB of iTunes music that for the life of me I can't figure out how to easily convert to MP3 for use on Android. Every time I try it messes up. Song titles don't appear or music is locked. Annoys me.

I really like the processor speed of the Atrix and my son's Thunderbolt. It is noticeably faster than the iPhone.

So - I want a faster phone...

11 more days. Btw the photon really isn't that bad; not sure if it is closer to the atrix or bionic. If the sg2 turns out rotten I'll just go with the photon.
