I could see me making this my next phone. I sort of have the upgrade itch to move on from my Note 2, and in hand the S6 is a really nice phone. I'm still trying to decide among the Note 4, S6 and Nexus 6 although I have to admit that the Nexus is just a little big for me to use comfortably. It would be nice to have a phone that fits in my front shirt pocket easier. I'll probably wait for just a bit to see how the battery issues get sorted I suppose.

There are no battery problems.

The Galaxy S6 has a technologically superior battery and longer battery life compared to the iPhone 6.

It's just that both of these devices have supposed "bad battery life", but in reality, the Galaxy S6 has the best battery life out of the current smartphones.

And couple that with the Galaxy S6's fast charging (your Galaxy S6 will come with a fast charging cable & adapter), the Galaxy S6's battery is superior compared to the iPhone 6/HTC One M9.

The Galaxy S6 also has the best display in the industry, period (read DisplayMate's review). Here's a photo showing a comparison of smartphone displays:

You can see that the whites on the Galaxy S6 are the most accurate.
The iPhone 6 looks yellow in comparison.

So there are no battery "problems" to really "solve" here.

My G2 could go 2 days without a charge and my OPO wasn't far off. The fact that I even have to worry about how much charge is left on my S6 sucks. I don't watch videos. I don't play games. Text, phone, web, Facebook = 26% right now after taking it off the charger at 10AM, less than 12 hours ago.

I see the poor battery life as the fatal flaw for the S6. Samsung should've put bigger battery in the S6 when they chose to go with the sealed design. It's unfortunate they chose to follow Apple and go with form over function. But Apple, unlike Samsung, makes sure iPhones have superior battery life.

I don't care how it compares to the iPhone 6, I care that it has worse battery life than the phone I own now.

And I bet that that's how a lot of other people see it.

I don't really care how the battery life of the S6 compares to the iPhone because I am not looking to change platforms. It is nice that the S6 has wireless charging built in however. I think that would be good enough for my normal daily usage.

Every single one of your posts are about samsung products. I own a s6 edge, and I may return it because paid samsung anti-apple trolling is kinda disgusting and anti-consumer, you samsung paid plants should be ashamed of yourself - at least be less obvious about it!

Thanks for taking care of this guy, mods/admins.

To Internet:
User "Applesexual" created one of the most racist posts I've ever seen and it has since been deleted. The post started out with long anecdotes about SGS6 battery life, including screenshots. He then confusingly declared that he hates Apple for supporting the immigration of non-whites to "white countries" including the United States and France. He even said he hates Google for this reason and thus supports a worldwide roll-out of Samsung+Tizen OS ("I'm a Samsung fan, LOL @ those who think I'm an Android fan"). He spends 2 paragraphs ranting on this subject and even made an analogy comparing non-whites to dogs.

So this the kind of guy that signs up for a tech forum only to discuss the SGS6, vehemently defends it against even the most minor criticism, denigrates competitors and their products, and then makes some of the most disgustingly racist remarks I've ever seen. I've been saying the anti-Apple folks are increasingly worse than Apple fanatics. I suspect lots of these over-the-line posts get deleted, so it's probably more difficult to show that. I just want history to document the fact that such racist remarks were made by THAT kind of user.

TBH all phones have pretty much shit battery life

they could all be made 1-2mm thicker and have a super battery in them
but no cant do that because apparently making an impossibly thin phone for no other reason besides thin is better

He's not a "paid plant", he's a Dari except replace the praise part "Sony" with "Samsung" and the hate part "Samsung" with "Apple".

Well you post like you're trying really really hard to defend any/all criticism towards Samsung at all costs. I'm not surprised people are questioning your motives. It's incredibly suspicious.

The problem is he does it with no subtlety and little intelligence.

Looking at the comments of some users who don't mind 9.3-10.5mm phones, I am surprised Samsung doesn't make an S6 Max version of sorts that's say 9.5-9.8mm thick and has a 4000 mAH battery to cater to their needs. LG's G4 is 9.8mm thick but only packs a 3000 mAH battery. The 6.8 mm S6 packs a 2550 mAH. Surely Samsung could have fit a 3500-4000 mAH in a 9.8mm version of the S6.

If they would include an SD slot I would be all over it.

The battery in the S6 is 3.72mm thick so if they increased the phone thickness by 3mm (from 6.8 to 9.8), then they should be able to increase the thickness of the battery by a comparable amount (from 3.72 to 6.72), and thus increase the capacity from 2550 mAh to 4600 mAh.

So all in all, 80% better battery life, better ergonomics and no more camera hump, I would definitely prefer that.

Increasing the thickness gives more room to 'stack' other components as well so you should be able to increase the battery in both other dimensions as well.

For me about 9mm is the ideal thickness, any less and the phone starts feeling flimsy and awkward to hold. 9mm may not be quite enough to get rid of the camera bump though.

This is true, however stacking other components can be fairly tricky with how mobos are laid out, but you can always do stuff like more chunky heatsinks (build in to the frame), larger camera modules, or larger speakers and of course as Oyeve mentioned, implement an SD card slot.

Also 9mm should be plenty to get rid of the camera hump, as far as I can tell from pictures the thickness of the S6 at the hump is only about 8mm.

He threadjacked a post I made about my first hand experiences with the s6 (I like it, the battery life could be better) - his passion made it pretty obvious that he was either paid by samsung or a basement dweller. Which makes you wonder - not only is it pretty despicable that samsungs market efforts include misinformation, but that they're hiring the dumbest, most socially hostile people possible. I'm keeping my s6 but I"ve seen enough b.s. from samsung (from multiple users) that I'm no longer a customer. And I've spend over $2,000 in samsung gear this year so far, no more! Should have bought an lg tv and just kept the iphone

Not to go off topic or anything, SS is offering $200 off the Edge/S6 with any phone as a trade in.

Sorry no link, but saw an ad last night.

And yeah, SS marketing, the paid posters, etc is flipping evil. They have a long history of the crap, seems to be in their corporate culture to attempt to game the system.
