Not sure if we were actually watching the same video review. You're right about selfies, but he points out many instances where the iPhone 6s produces better image quality, particularly when it comes to colors and low-light flash with the rear-facing camera. I also don't see that he touched on video compression, shot-to-shot times or similar elements.

I'm a bit torn on the S6's low-light performance. That extra-bright lens brings out more detail, to be sure, but it's to the point where it's not entirely faithful to what you actually see -- almost like it was shot in daytime. Notice how a high-end DSLR (say, a Nikon D4) can get sharp details at night while retaining nighttime colors? Yeah.

The hardware inside the iPhone 6s is 2 generations ahead of the iPhone 6. The iPhone 6s has DDR4 RAM compared to the
ancient DDR3 RAM of the iPhone 6.
Also the Apple A9 CPU of the iPhone 6s is based on 14nm architecture, several generations more advanced than the Apple A8 of the iPhone 6.
The iPhone 6 camera is now rather low quality in comparison to the newer phones, and the voice recording on the iPhone 6 is the worst out of any smartphone in the market.
The iPhone 6s takes higher quality photos, have a higher MP count and has superior color balance, as well as better voice recording.

I chose the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge earlier this year and decided not to wait for the iPhone 6s. And it looks like I made the correct choice. Apple's shares have taken a hit since the middle of this year. I don't see much more growth potential for Apple.

This is why Apple is investing more and more into their own rumored electrical vehicle subsidiary.

How about we see what the actual Q3/Q4 iPhone sales are like (you know, this whole "evidence" thing) before coming to any conclusions? And given that Samsung willingly admitted it's cutting S6 prices due the phone's poor sales from the moment it launched, you're one to talk.

I have both the 6, S6 and we just got 10 of the 6s at work.

The camera app is a delight to use on the S6, it works just as well as the iOS camera app. Different for sure, but both are solid and responsive.

Neither are slow and overly complicated like the Sony's, nor overly simplistic like Google's native camera app.

Seems like the software advantage the iPhone had for a while has been caught up by the competition. Makes sense as there was never really anything hardware wise that made the iPhone camera special.

Question is when does the midrange catch up and make one if the few remaining advantages of flagship basically dissappear.

I spent about an hour with the iPhone 6s today and I also thought the camera was not as good as the S6's camera. Surprising turn of event because I expected the iPhone 6s' camera would break a new ground.

Of course the impression is subjective, and is subject to possible AMOLED bias which makes objects look realer on the phone's screen. But the S6's camera is faster than the 6s' camera and that should be objective. I am guessing it is due the nature of the early software on the 6s.

Iphones always had horrible front camera's, even the new ipad pro and mini4 still have 1.2mp 720p front cameras. Apple just recycles the horrible 1.2mp camera from the original iphone 5 that came out 3 years ago.

Edit: Rofl I spoke too soon. "The reality is that this is not how most people review their photos.. There is no real winner or real loser here," the dude declares near the end of the video. Somehow I do not think that blurting is meant to convey that all 3 of them are "good enough" (which they are) considering what he was doing in this comparison video. Imagine what his conclusion might have been had the results been more in line with his wishes. (again, lol)

Edit 2: Also note how the video title would have you believe the iPhone 6s was tested yet the actual shots were taken by the iPhone 6s Plus. Granted he made the same "mistake" with the shots taken by the S6 Edge+, but whether he is innocent is anyone's guess.

I have an iPhone 6 for work and a Galaxy S6 Edge for personal use, and it may be a simple thing but that double click home button to open camera app is so useful. It's one of those little things that makes imo the S6 better camera to use regardless of which you think takes better pictures.

I second the home button double tap to open camera. It's fantastic. Couple with the best camera in a smart phone? Simply icing on the cake. Love my S6 so far.
