Samsung LCD tv/monitor deal

Buy dot com has the 150MP LCD for $548.95 and free shipping. Samsung has a $50 rebate good through June 29th.

Total shipped cost is $498.98

I have no experience with this monitor but have read that it is a reasonably good monitor and at least fair for TV viewing.

No offense but I don't think $475 for a 15" LCD is that hot. (well, w/o considering the TV tuner)
I mean, you can get one w/o tv tuner for $330; is the TV tuner worth $145??

I've seen this monitor at the computer fair in pomona and they had it for $380... and possibly a $50 rebate.

I looked into this LCD so my friends could meeet up play computer games and GT3 on the PS2... kick some *ss in Laguna Seca and Trial Mountain.

I have the 170mp and I have to say it's a great LCD line. Yes, it's a little bit more expensive but when I first installed it, I made sure to watch an NBA playoff game on it-perfect for college dorms. Okay, so usually college kids don't spend $750 on a 17" lcd, oh well ;p And after a while, I got used to playing counterstrike on it, even though I still get better k ratios with a CRT. Quality is good though, and I'll be happy as soon as my $100 rebate comes in ;p

I am using 570V (got it for $250 a year ago) + Hauppauge (WinTV Go for $45) in W2K --> very good!. $4XX is way too much. It's my $0.02.

Its hot given 15" LCD TVs are ~$800-$1000.

Its cold given 15" LCD computer monitors.

You can't really compare LCD monitor/TV's with LCD TV's, because most "LCD TV's" are actually plasma, and not LCD. Plasma tends to be brighter and last longer than LCD. That's why some of them are so expensive.

you can buy a monitor to tv scan external tuner, from tatung, or avermedia or something for $100 and turn any monitor or analog lcd into a tv though, so this relaly isnt that hot. the additional tons of inputs this monitor has is cool, but realy, i'd just buy a tv and a monitor, unless mydesk had to be uber cool or something.
