Samsung LCD - Which one to buy? THere are so many!

I just need a decent 15" monitor


Ive read that the 151S is good, but i never get to see it in person. Some retail stores here have the 570v, others have 150MB, or 150MP, or 151Mp, or 151B.

they have tons of models out there.




Can someoen give me a *brief* overview on which one's main function is... and a list of typical prices

I don't know the answer to your question but my Dell Inspiron 8200 has a Samsung LCD and it is absolutely beautiful. It's the absolute best LCD I've ever seen. It's much better than IBM LCD my Inspiron 8000 had last year.

Aside from a Sony, I have never seen any LCD monitor in any retail store that was not the bottom of the line - el cheapo.

All brands have varying degrees of quality. I shopped my buns off last month and decided on the new Viewsonic VX900. None of those you cite here come close to meeting its specs: 500:1 contrast; 250 nits brightness; 19-inch viewable; very cool silver and black design; built in speakers; analog and digital connections - cables provided for both. The current best price is at NewEgg. The VX series also has a smaller 15-inch one if the price scares you.

Anyway, I liked it so much I got a second one, and the price from NewEgg a month later was $21 cheaper.

I just recently got a Samsung 151s and I like it . It's for my old computer but now i seem to be typing more on it with the LCD because it's a lot easier on my eyes vs my NEC FE950+ 19inch. Check out the Samsung 151p or 171p .

good to hear that, cus i am using that nec crt right now

HOw does the quality of the lcd (151s) (contrast, sharpeness etc) compare to the FE950+?
noticeble difference?

don't get any old model, get the new T or P series, the spec is even better than NEC 1550M or 1550X.

I got the Samsung 151Q last month, which has the same specs as the 151P.

Awesome screen. 500:1 contrast, 350cd/m3

Andyhui, why didn't you get 152T? The price difference shouldn't be much? You don't want DVI?

Do you think Samsung's 2 yr on-site warranty is better than Eizo's 3 yr bring-in warranty?

Also how much is the 151q , 151s and 152t?

152t is alot more expensive then the 151q, I think.

The 152T has only just been released (in fact, only 1 or 2 places has it).

The 151Q was the top of the line when I bought it.

I bought mine at 298.....I rarely go to Shum Shui Po, since I can get good deals at 298.

littlegohan, don't buy it in hk, hk has 2 yr warranty within hk only.
us has 3 yr warranty within us only.
every computer stuff is selling at about us list price in hk.
in us, you could get computer stuff way cheaper than hk when there is hot deal, coupon, promotion, rebate, etc.

Littlegohan, the brightness on the samsung is a lot brighter than the nec even when the contrast and brightness is at 50/50, not use to it but i guess you get used it to it. The sharpness of the screen is really good, text and everything, but if your watching a dvd movie...of course the nec would be better . It's easier on the eyes if your going to use it for a long time, just getting the right brightness, contrast ratio takes some time.
