Samsung Magician messing with my power settings?

I downloaded the updated Samsung Magician utility last night on two computers; neither of these computers have Samsung drives in them, but I use the benchmark utility.

On both of the computers this morning the power setting profile has changed... including screen standby and sleep (I don't sleep either computer... and they were set to sleep after 20 minutes.)

Anyone else see this or have this problem? Nothing else was changed between the two computers besides downloading the new utility.

Samsung Magician will only benefit people with Samsung SSD's, but yes I have got annoyed with how it messes with the power settings.

I find it only usually does this after performing an OS optimisation but it is fairly easy to set back. You may want to check if your hibernation file has been re-enabled if you have disabled it in the past.

Also worth noting, with the Samsung utility running, it won't let your computer sleep for very long. I have to stop it from loading with windows via MSconfig to be sure mine sleeps. But this shouldn't be an issue for you.

Nope. No change noted in any system parts after the Magician update. but I only use it for Samsung SSDs. I don't use sleep or hibernate.

No, I have it so it doesn't start up... I just use it as a benchmark utility. I will recheck my hibernation settings, though... thanks for reminding me.

I don't use sleep or hibernate.

I don't either... that's why I was surprised when my desktop took a little snooze on me!

I may wind up uninstalling it if it's going to jack with my settings... When I had my 840Pro in my desktop, System Optimization really jacked up my settings...

Yes magician will change your settings depending on which profile you select.

Just for clarification... I'm not using Magician to optimize or anything other than running the benchmark utility. I manually set my power settings.

HDTune free edition (2.55) also changes your Windows power settings.

Same here, I did use magician to change some settings in the past , but this update seems to have changed my power settings without asking or informing me.
This is highly annoying.
Also it keeps closing after a while when I open it.
If you haven't updated yet, think twice.

Is there an official english support forum? Couldn't find one.

I updated to the Magician 4.3 and discovered that every time I started my computer I got a message asking me to allow it change the computer settings. I fiddled around with the power settings but it didn't make any difference.
I have a Samsung 830 so there really is no benefit to upgrade to Version 4.3 from the 3.1 that was installed and working fine. Maybe for the 840 it works better.
After messing with Magician for awhile, I decided to not have it run on startup, Windows 7 works fine with the 830. I'll use Magician to optimize my drive and check on it once and a while, that's about it.
