But.

Consider reading some of the user reviews.

some troubles.

Most consistent trouble - amount of AC electrical power drawn at startup.
Dimming lights / tripping BBU (Battery Backup Units).

Suggestions to put it on separate / lower use circuit.

I own the ML-2510 laser. It's a pretty nice little machine. I put it on its own circuit before reading any of those reviews... I haven't experienced any lights dimming/etc. Remanufactured cartridges can be had for like $35 on ebay. It comes with a starter cartridge that yielded probably around 2000 sheets.

Every laser printer I own has done that...I think they are pretty power hungry devices. IMO, I would wait for a sub $30 laser printer as they pop up every now and then..I think their is a refurb printer for about $30 AR and AC.

Yeah, you really CAN'T put a laser on a UPS - PERIOD. I don't know who comes up with that. Lasers eat a lot of power.

I'm sure the unit is fine, every piece of Samsung gear I've had over the years has always been good stuffs.

I'm quite happy with this printer. It's not on my UPS, nor should a printer be on one.

Would this work with DOS??

I have an old program that is DOS that I need to print out of.

I've been stuck on a HP Deskjet 600 series too long!!

I replaced an older Samsung ML2010 with the ML2510. It was almost as cheap as buying a replacement cartridge. It is a good little printer. Pretty fast warm up to first page and a pretty good print speed.

my oldass samsung ml1710 is still kicking ass even with the abuse and dusty environment its in..

I also picked up the ML2510 a couple of months ago on a similar deal. I do see a slight dimming of my desk lamp when it first warms up, but I can't put it on its own circuit just yet. Other than that I have been very pleased with the speed and quality of the machine. After about 1000 pages no problems so far...

I bought one almost a year ago. It beats the crap out of any inkjet, that's for sure.
