Got it.. apple copies it is good Samsung copies it is bad.

correct. there is ways to use existing technology to make a product unique enough that consumers take notice and it becomes part of your companies image. Then there are poor ways to copy by looking at one companies marketing, design, look and feel and just clone as much of a duplicate as they can.
The ipod didn't clone any MP3 player out back then, they took it and made what they felt were improvements. First to use a circular touch pad in an MP3 player where others used plastic buttons. Others were big n clunky or small and useless...Apple changed that. Samsung has done nothing of the sort.

a short example of one product
Among the iPod's innovations were its small size, achieved using a 1.8" hard drive, whereas its competitors were using 2.5" hard drives at the time, and its easy-to-use navigation, which was controlled using a mechanical scroll wheel (unlike later iPods, which had touch-sensitive scroll wheels), a center select button, and four auxiliary buttons around the wheel. The iPod had a rated battery life of ten hours.

but there are differences. Apple isn't really duplicating. they take what exists and put it all together making it their own. Regardless what matters is the sales and Samsung has no personal identity. their like any other random china shop.

Nope. There's nothing in that link that couldn't also be pulled from adverts of a dozen different products from different people. Parents enjoying a device with children, smiling people using gadgets, etc. Just more Pro-Apple reality distortion.

Both selling tablets, both using same camera angles, both using Dinosaur apps, both using the scene of hiding under blankets, If its reality distorion then you need new glasses.

So, by your logic, could T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T all sue each other for the content of their ads? Simply swap the background colors, red, blue, magenta, etc.

Edit - Also, could you link to the Apple ad you're comparing to the Tab 8.9 ad in The Verge URL from your original post? Comparing the iP4S ad, extolling the 4S's camera, there's nothing in common other than the actress.

Who's suing?

Show me these adds where they've duplicated each others content and I'll give you a response on if they was copying or not.

As they have pulled the video I'm think Samsung is practicing a bit of viral marketing in this instance.

Check my edit again.

But all 4 national carriers basically have the same ads, extolling their high performance smartphones, the reliability and speed of their networks, with happy people using those phones, etc.

I don't see why this child actress should not be able to get more work just because Apple fanbois feel they got dibs on her.

If you cannot see the similarities then you are the one that is bias. The same little girl; a dinosaur app (out of thousands available for Android); being under a tent/blanket...

Pretty obvious the largest issue is the fact that Samsung looks to follow in Apples lead for everything cause they can't be unique themselves. They don't know how to reach target consumers, they don't know how to create their own image. You see anything from companies like Samsung, you think of Apple. pretty pathetic if you ask me.

Only a devout apple sheep would think of apple when seeing a Samsung advert. So IMO samsungs advert is working.

I find it funny really. So much so that I went out and bought a Galaxy S II today at lunch.

These ads are nothing more than taking the fan made "I'm a Mac parodies and upping the game a bit.

The die hard Apple fanbois got pissy at those jabs at them too. Hurts a bit when it hits close to the mark don't it?

A bunch of baristas pissed off that someone is making better phones.

Galaxy S II user here and my wife uses the Nexus S. OMG does Samsung make nice stuff. We compared our phones with our friends who have an iphone 4 and an iphone 4S. I'd take these Samsung smartphones hands down any minute of the day. Apple locks you into their own "stuff" too much and Itunes in a nightmare if god forbid you want to sync your iphone onto another installation of it. It want's your first born. LOL.

Nah, Apple is good. Samsung is better. Or, should I say, IOS5 is good, Android platform is better. The OP appears to be trolling Samsung. Nothing more. Makes me want to go out and get my kids new Samsung phones when I see threads like this. hehe.

Let's get back to a discussion of the commercial, whether it's a satire, etc. without all the comments about which set of OS users are more sensitive or better or worse or whatever.

Thanks

1. Samsung should have released the ad on a flash-only site, for added lulz.

2. Apple could easily have paid the little girl not to work in smartphone/tablet ads for X months/years, or however long they felt was appropriate. Kudos to Samsung for funding this girls college education just to make a point

Why should we expect anything less from these ass clowns?

Because asses keep posting these same asinine pictures. Please, sandisk made their usb adapter so close to ipods adapter that it even fit the ipod. Yet you iphads arent bitching about sandisk because they arent a threat to you. Blackberries power adapter is almost exactly the same as samsungs and apples yet yall aint bitching about that one either. Hmmm, seems like fanboys only cry and bitch and moan when there is a product that may be just as good or better than anything that the apple cookie-cutters can churn out.
