Samsung PC2700 256MB for $64 or 512MB for $116 shipped

I've never bought from these guys before and they're not listed on resellerratings, BUT they're associated with Shacknews which is a somewhat respectable gaming news site. The price is decent and they have it listed as Samsung chips on Samsung PCB so you know what you're getting. Also, they do not rip off on shipping at all, it's a meager $4 for UPS Ground. They've also got decent prices on other hardware. I can't directly link to the memory because the site needs to load a shopping cart when you go to it but go to Shackstore.com, click on memory and scroll down a bit. I hope someone finds this helpful.

If you want genuine Samsung, make sure you buy it from a place that lists part numbers. Otherwise you won't get real Samsung... and at that price it's certainly not Samsung on Samsung. I bought 2 sticks of "Samsung" from legit stores (svcompucycle.com and googlegear.com) and neither of them were actual Samsung. Stick with newegg, where they list the part numbers, have picutres of real samsung, and it's been confirmed it's REAL samsung.

BTW, if anyone wants a very nice 512 PC2700 stick of Samsung chips on another PCB, just holler

I ordered mine from Essential for $119 shipped, posted a hot deal, and the price went up the next day to $125 + shipping. It is Samsung chips on Samsung PCB.

The only catch it that the ones from Essential are DTL sticks, not CTL, which overclocks better. Athough they're both good sticks.

NewEgg has been shipping the DTL sticks too for some time. Their site still lies and says it's CTL but it's not, I received a stick and it was DTL.

Does anyone knows if this place is legit? I ordered two 512MB Samsung sticks from them on Thursday, July, 11, and it is still not here yet. Today is Wednesday. What kind of shipping method do they use? They have no way to check the status of the order. I emailed, sending them messages through ICQ for the past two days and no answer at all. I hope I was not trolled. I paid with credit card, so I hope it went well. He contacted right after I ordered about the prices being too low but he'll honor it.

Any way, I am worry and any input would be greatful.

If you guys are in the San Jose area, you can just pick up Samsung memory at Pixelusa and not spend any money on shipping. It's basically the same thing as newegg, but its also a store. I think the part numbers check out.

Whoa, I didn't realize this thread was still alive. I recently talked to the guys that run the store and checked up. Apparently, stultus was right, it isn't Samsung Original. I asked for part numbers and gave them Samsung's spec sheet and they said the numbers don't correspond. But one of them did mention that he had the ram running at 190Mhz FSB at CAS2. I'm going to order some if I can't find a better deal. Also, the company that handles order fulfillment for the shack store is Broadband PC. If you go to their site, you can find the same ram for a couple bucks cheaper. I spoke to them over windows messenger so you can contact them that way. Hope that helps.

Yeh dude. I still have not receive my RAM sticks yet. I talked to the guy and he said no later than this Tuesday. If I don't get them by then, it's thumbs down from now on for them. He said UPS is slow but never seen it that slow. He won't even give the tracking number. Now he said he contacted UPS and said no later than Tuesday. However, how come he won't give me the tracking number. I am wondering about that. Well, I'll wait until Tuesday.

Bad_Dude, if they said they "contacted" UPS, it is really a "contact". Nobody calls UPS for anything. You check on ups.com. I'm sure if you call them, you'll get laughed at and they'll tell you to check online.

Well, I went ahead and ordered ram as well. I did it from broadband-pc though, the company that handles order fulfillment. I need the ram so if I get dicked, you better believe this place is getting flamed on RR and on their website. I ordered over the weekend and haven't received a shipping notice. I will say though that they're supposedly switching to fedex for all their orders because they mentioned having problems with UPS. Hope you get your ram tomorrow, Bad_Dude.

Never heard of a online place that will not give you the UPS tracking number for your order if they have it. No reason not to. Sounds a bit fishy to me.

Dang, my local store had 256mb genuine samsung pc2700 on genuine samsung pcb for $63 b4 the memory started to jump up again. Too bad i bought it when it was $68.

He told me that he had food poisoning and haven't gone to the office for a few days. However, how come he did not provide me with any tracking number since he called in to UPS? Also, I was never contacted by email with shipping notice or any replies to my questions. I was contacted by ICQ once and that's it.

I finally got my RAM sticks today. Well, the box says 3 days select. It was not ship out until July 18. My card was charged on July 11. So apparently they charge your card then one week later ship out the products. I wonder why and I am too happy about that. Any way, I got my RAM sticks. Will test them out now. They are Samsung on the chips and double sided. I hope they will work on my Epox 4G4A+.
