Who plays benchmarks? I'll take better battery life than having a bit better score in 3dmarktutu bench 96.

Nice GPUs help with games like Godfire.

Ya!

Its unplayable on the exynos?

Lmao. This is like ignore other peoples opinions and only think about what you want as you move the goal post. What the heck are we doing on this forum where members post benchmarks everyday? All the cards/cpus/etc can run everything regardless right? Why even bother with speed and performance metrics, they all run whatever right?

But when ppl don't agree, lets just throw the whole model out and pretend absolute speed doesn't matter anymore. Waaa... needless to say I'm ok with a lil batt sacrifice for the extra 30% speed.

Maybe its just envy for that microsd card slot and bigger batt?

Eh, no.

I do like the internals. The S7 is an excellent phone and I want to get one but believe it or not its appearance is what stops me for now. (That and, well, the fact that I have more than 5 smartphones at the moment)

For starters, I do not like the colors. The white is off-white and the black is off-black, making them look aged from the get go. It should help masking fingerprints so there is a practical benefit, but I am not sure if that trade-off makes sense. (i.e. too little benefit, too much cost) The gold has acquired pink tint, and it now looks like copper. Silver is the color most faithful to the last year's design philosophy, but the result is a mixed one at best in my opinion. It looks like something out of kitchen sink.

I might still get one in the future. Other than its appearance which is decidedly a matter of personal preference, the phone seems practically critic-proof. I like how the screen is the visibly even and more consistent off-angle in comparison to the S6/Edge+.

I have the champagne or gold. It looks good, though it is more of a brushed nickel color than gold. My significant other has the iphone 6 plus and the whole s7e fit inside the iphone lol. They really trimmed the fat on this one. I think you'd dig it too, but it's not that big of a leap from the s6. I waited and waited with a s4 and just couldn't hold out anymore when the s7 dropped. Btw, I think there's a costco deal with a fat rebate for single device purchases.

The Exynos is also a bit slower in graphics and a lil slower in cpu.

Till the time Andre performs a deep-dive of both SOC, I doubt there is much to discuss other than few benchmarks. Even on Geekbench, we can clearly see that 820 only wins in memory scores, and no match in integer or FP numbers. And that's exactly why in any browser based benchmarks Exynos is likely to win easily.

Again without taking into account efficiency and throttling, it's useless to discuss about a score from a single run of benchmark test.

I'm hoping they fix the SD card unmount issue soon. It's annoying.

Agreed. My wife has the S7 Edge and it comes up all of the time. Her phone has even restarted randomly a couple of times. I'm not sure if it's due to SD card issue, but it's annoying.

The phone itself is gorgeous, and the SD 820 is a beast. She's been talking junk about scoring higher in 3DMark vs. my iPhone 6s +...

Yeah, these issues are very wide-spread. Hopefully it's a software issue and can be patched, otherwise it's gonna be a massive recall and, IMO, a failure.

Maybe it was the T-Mo software update that fixed it, but I haven't had the SD issue even once.

Sweet, let us know!

Holy batcrap!
This looks amazing! Benchmark results are averaging 60.1 FPS at 2560x1440 Performance level high. Looks really nice. I remember running this on my Note 3 and 4 and while it looked nice then its really smooth now!

Trying on ultra settings now.

OK, on ultra high quality I get 59.7 FPS at the same resolution. Damn amazing IMO.

To be fair, it's not a tough benchmark and it's vsync limited. With all the big cores turned off on my Nexus 6P, I get 52fps at the same resolution and settings. The difference is that with subsequent runs, it'll get slower and slower on my 6P because of the SD810.

Wow, you are pegged at vsync then. I would try Real Racing 3 too. That is another free game that really pushes devices.

Just ran this on my backup phone, a LG G3 with a SD 801 and Adreno 330.

Ultra High Quality @ 1440p - Avg FPS 40.7

I wish Vsync wasn't enabled, so we could get a better idea of the real boost in GPU performance.

That is what the GFXBench offscreen option is for.

Running it now.

GFXBench OpenGL

Manhattan Offscreen HL tests:

iPhone 6s Plus - 39.5 FPS
LG G3 - 7.7 FPS

T-Rex Offscreen:

iPhone 6s Plus - 80 FPS
LG G3 - 21 FPS

His S7 should score higher than both.

Whoa, that's pretty sad state of affairs for Qualcomm if it's apples to apples. Does the international version lack US LTE bands?

Its the other way around, few fps more for 15-30% battery loss. Thanks but i'll take better battery life.

Good for you. I never questioned nor argued what was better for you, so don't do it for me. Good to know you can cherry pick scores too. The gap in browsing isn't that huge, especially in the context that it's already outlasting everything except its uk cousin lol.

The US S7 battery life looks worse than the international S7, but they're still better than the competition. If it wasn't for the locked bootloader, I wouldn't mind getting one.
