I think as long as your ordered by 14th you're good. Any time after~ you're rolling the dice. Terms were pretty specific

Verizon is doing a BOGO now. Same as Tmo's deal, buy two on payments, get a Visa card for the retail amount of one.

Very annoying that I had to put it on a payment plan to get the treats for pre-ordering. I bought mine straight out and got nothing.

I am really enjoying it though. I may have to get a case just to use at the gym, phone keeps falling out of my pocket when doing things where I lay down, bench, abs, etc. It's very slick and workout shorts make it worse. I like no case for when wearing jeans and what not.

The Exynos is also a bit slower in graphics and a lil slower in cpu.

I'm hoping they fix the SD card unmount issue soon. It's annoying.

It's a marshmallow issue. You can configure the adoption on the sd card, that's one way of removing the annoyance.

This imo shows exynos is a far better design. Look at web browsing. Its a huge difference. Exactly nobody can tell the speed difference but everyone and his brother will notice the difference in battery life.
A win for the little big configuration. Took some years but imo it pays off now.

I'm not sure most people would be able to tell the difference in something with <10% less battery life, especially when talking about 24 hours of 3g talk time. I know I wouldn't since I always charge my phone before I go to bed and my phone normally gets to 50% before I go to bed (even after 2 years with this phone).

Far better? Do you own an Exynos or something? Yea, the Exynos is thriftier in batt usage, but it's not that big of a deal. Who browses for 10-13hrs straight??? The Adreno 530 is the best gpu out and its not on the Exynos.

Nobody talk 24 hours and nobody watches benchmarks. But people use their phone for surfing. Web usage is what taxes a cpu most and its also what take most battery life for most users. 30% is a huge - huge - difference.
820 is no 801 for efficiency with exynos in comparison. And efficiency is what matters. Qcom is beaten where it was best and it used to be oposite. I would have hoped for something else but the facts is different.

I used it from 7:30am to 3:00pm. 4.5 hr of screen time, 2.5 of it was playing games while I was shopping and waiting around and the rest was browsing reddit and facebook. 30% battery life before I topped it back to 100% on my car ride home. This would easily last me the whole work day with more than 50% battery leftover since I usually only have my screen on for 2 hours in a typical work day.

Well real world battery usage never matches tests. So if it is the difference between 4.5 to 5.5 hours of normal on-screen (apps loaded, syncing in background, mixed network strength), then that is significant.

That being said, performance looks reasonably close with the S820 having better ST and GPU performance and the 8890 having better MT and less throttling performance. Battery life seems better in the 8890 but don't international versions have less carrier bloatware and add-ons than the US versions? Wouldn't surprise me if some of that played a part.

What sways me more are the reports of the Exynos version being more responsive and loading faster (apps, lockscreen, etc) - which shouldn't be driven by the SOC. Since they have the same hardware storage, it seems that the Exynos version is better optimized. This is going to be more noticeable on a daily basis than SOC difference.

That's true these synth benches don't mean much in the real world. I just don't think it's that big of a deal, the differences between the two regions. One has higher performance while the other is probably better optimized, thus more efficient. Pick your poison, be happy with what you got. However this crying by some posters belies the fact that many cannot choose what they get, so what's the point in bemoaning it on a soapbox?

That said, one of the first things I do is strip the bloat n swap touchwiz out so these benches become moot anyways after the fact.

Who plays benchmarks? I'll take better battery life than having a bit better score in 3dmarktutu bench 96.
