My Gear VR promo just came in the mail! Now I can sell off my Note 4 and the Gear VR for it!
Is it better?
Oh hell no! Its made of much cheaper/thinner plastics. No carry case and extra face pads as my older innovator one. The control pad on this one has indented grooves for the swipe left/right/up/down. The older one was just flat (which I preferred). The head and behind the neck straps on this newer one is just straps. The older one had large comfy plastic on the top and back ala "strormtrooper" armor look. Other than that it works exactly the same as my older one except for the USB micro passthru charging and the adjustable connection allowing S6, S6 edge and S7 and S7 edge connect ability.
The screen on my S7 edge is slightly smaller than my Note 4 so in the VR it looks a tad sharper. I was worried the 6 game promo wouldn't work as I had already created an Oculus account long ago, but all i did was connect the S7 to it, removed it and it brought me to the 6 downloads. I did DL them but havent tried them. I immediately started watching SW:The force awakens and was lost to the world.
It is lighter than the Innovator version as it uses much less and thinner and cheaper plastic. It was freeish so I am not complaining. I will swap out the good straps and case from the innovator for this new one and sell the old one with the new straps.

So you recommend watching movies using the VR goggles? Also how does the sound work?
Its pretty cool watching flick on it. Sound is great if you have headphones or earbuds.
Any motion sickness? Have you tried using the GearVR with Kodi?

That actually doesn't sound that bad. My wife's biggest complaint with the S4 one is that its too heavy on her head.

Changed my mind. It arrived today.I'd ordered it direct from Samsung. I think I'll still wait a bit and see if any of the other versions shake out.
