According to Anandtech it should look something like this:

What PCIe gen is your slot running at? 2 or 3?

im starting my build tomorrow, similar to deders

Same mobo & CPU. I have a OEM win 10 pro CD, will I be able to just directly do it from that or will I need to install to something else install the drivers and then clone it over?

I dont even have these transfert size (.5 and 8192.0) available?

It is indeed set to gen3 in the bios. I have an asus z170 pro gaming board, and the intel drive is set in the 3rd pcie slot, could this be the problem?

Will be interested on how you get on. My install was fine until I had to install the Wifi and Asmedia USB3 drivers.

If you mean the 3rd large slot it should be fine as it runs at 4x. the small slots all run at 1x apparently.

You might want to look at the PCIe slot power settings. Sometimes they clock down a mode or 2 to save power. It may be that activity on the disk isn't triggering it to go back to full speed.

Yes, large slot. Will look into the pcie power management options in the bios.

I only have PCIE native power management disable/enabled. Is that it? Its disabled by default.

There is also a setting in the advanced power settings in windows. Don't know which overrides which but it is worth a look.

TBH im prob not even going to install the wifi drivers, its not something I will use and IMO somewhat wasted on a desktop, I got CAT run everywhere already

Unfortunately it is a necessity for me. The engineer said he couldn't put an extension in to put the router anywhere but the opposite end of the house from my computer because the outside wiring it too old. Thankfully it's a great wi-fi implementation. Way better than any dongle I've had.

Still let me know how you get on with the AsMedia USB3 drivers.

Which GPU are you using? I'm having difficulty getting my Asus 780DCII OC to boot in UEFI mode with CSM disabled. Would also be interested to know what kind of boot partitions windows makes for you.

With power management disabled in windows 10, its better but the samsung still leads. I also installed the nvme driver from intel and the lastest drive firmware.

On my MB which is a Asus Maximus VII one of my 16x slots is only 2.0, you might want to look at your manual and make sure the slot your using is Gen3?

Those speeds look just what you should be getting with a 400 gig Intel 750...I think...lol

from asus.com

Expansion Slots
2 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (Single at x16, dual at x8/x8, )
1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (max at x4 mode, )
3 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x1

Your good on any of the 3x16 slots....my Z97 MB only has 2x16 Gen 3 slots, so my GTX 980Ti will only be running at x8 Gen 3 when I use the other 16x Gen 3 slot for the 950 Pro...wish I had a Z170?

That looks much better. I presume you have installed the chipset drivers?

That is very similar. I've been told by Asus support that if I can't get UEFI boot to work properly by setting CSM to Auto, I should return my card to the supplier, who can offer me credit towards something else. I've been thinking that something else could be a 980TI!

I reinstalled them just to be sure, and getting the same result. I dont know that other anandtech benchmark got their result and it makes me worried that my drive is not all it could be.

Even if this all overkill anyway with the same result or not and will probably never see the difference, I want everything to work at its best.

How does the 980TI handle full detail on the 34"?

hopefully better then the 970 its replacing.

I don't know haven't hooked it up yet. everything's in boxes still. The 970 does ok but not good enough IMO.

im not reusing much didn't feel like pulling the other card for 3 days

I get on Heaven 4.0

Score: 2080
Min FPS: 33.3
Max FPS: 186.2

question for any of the posters with a 950 PRO in their possession - what is the covering over the controller and nand - is it a plastic applique or aluminum?
