That is funny I just got a DELL U3415W 34" and running it with a Asus 980TI Strix....does just find with 3440x1440....Love the ultra wide.

I get on Heaven 4.0

FPS: 82.6
Score: 2080
Min FPS: 33.3
Max FPS: 186.2
at 3440x1440

I think that's my next monitor. I was waiting for an ultrawide 34" 1440 G-Sync, but at $1400 they can keep it. My Dell U2711 has been a workhorse, but has obtrusive anti-glare.

Is that with everything set to ultra but with AA off?

Thankfully Dell has toned down on the antiglare coarseness. It's unnoticeable on mine as I expect it is on the 34".

I plan to carefully peel off the sticker and put one of these on the controller (After I do measurements to make sure it won't interfere with a second video card if I got one)

6mm tall or 10mm tall

THanks for the suggestion - only problem with that, for me, is that will void the warranty - i'd thought of it as well. Suggestion if you do go that route, go with a copper heatsink - copper has a higher thermal co-efficient (ie, transfers heat faster / better), plus putting a coating on aluminum, like those are, only serves to seal the surface which hinders transfer of heat to the atmosphere.

it would be easier and less warranty voiding to just mount a small fan blowing at it if you are worried about the thermal throttling - which wont show itself in most cases

That's running it has its setup I didn't change any settings, I have a 4790K running stock for a cpu, I just looked at my screenshot the quality is only set to high, by the way running Valley benchmark on this monitor is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

I've seen it at Newegg on sale for $649...Great Monitor this is coming from 2x24" Dell U2412M's...get it you won't be sorry!

already did that on my xp941

But having a plastic sticker for a covering that is basically an insulator helping to retain heat in the controller is a little counterproductive - even with a fan, it would enhance cooling if that cover had been a small, even thin guage, aluminum cover -

Yeah it's so bad on this one when I'm working on photography that I can't tell if I'm looking at noise/grain or screen sparkle.

The only other thing that I haven't liked about Dell is that they seemed to have ditched their QA dept. Both of the Dell products I've bought were defective and had to be returned. Both times I bought directly from Dell and they handled the returns well.

I bought my last 3 monitors from Dell direct, and they have been all find, there is a little IPS glow on a all black screen in the corners but it doesn't bother me at all and to me there's no glare on the 34". Oh by the way the stand is really good move it anyway you want.

I had some IPS glow in the bottom right corner for the first few months but it's completely cleared up now.

I just watched a preview of the new Star wars movie coming out in dec, and it didn't fill the screen and had black borders all around the screen and I didn't have any iPS glow at all...

thought some might find this interesting -

below are two shots showing the difference in the gap behind the xp941 mounted in an Asus Hyper M.2 board and the Addonics ADM2PX4 M.2 > PCIe boards

the Addonics doesn't leave much of a gap behind the xp941, maybe 3/32" while the Asus card allows approx 1/4" - to put it into perspective, on the addonics board i doubt i could get the tip of a ballpoint pen refill down behind the board, much less the cone of that fat bodied ball point pen

I suspect Asus did that intentionally, ie using tall mounting socket and a correspondingly tall standoff nut body, to allow for free air flow behind the ssd mounted in the unit.

Thanks for the pictures I have the Asus Hyper card on my desk just waiting for the 950, still debating on the 950 or the Intel 750, just waiting for more feedback on fresh installs without problems on the 950?

That's what I want too...but seeing a lot of problems with getting the OS to recognize the drive and get it to boot...I guess a guy could try it and if it doesn't work just send it back?

DON't think i've seen anyone post with not being able to install their 950 PRO as OS drive, either here or Tom's or on the Asus mobo support forum -

maybe a few posters with problems installing Win 7 but those seem to make it by cloning, which is what i planned to do all along

I'm actually planning to first use the 950 as a data ssd, to write my video render files to - and see what that does to my render times, then, after installing the 950's NVMe driver to my xp941, cloning it over to the 950 PRO

nice numbers - congrats

curious to ask, are there any tasks (video rendering, data crunching etc) that are time consuming that you do, and if so, did you run the same file before and after the installation to compare times to completion?

I peeled it fwiw. First of all there is no warning about removal. Second, the pamphlet that comes with the 950 says the label contains important after sales support information, quote; "so please watch out for any label damage". I put it safely back into the clamshell and can stick it right back on if need be.

When you installed Windows on it did you have to do/change anything in the Asus bios?(ie CSM)
