Question Samsung smart tv wired ethernet connection

I am having an issue with a samsung smart tv ethernet connection. I have a zyxel 5 port ethernet switch in my tv cabinet that connects to my tv, playstation, and xbox. The switch then connects via ethernet cable to my router in media closet. The playstation and the xbox work fine but when I connect the tv the switch goes down and will not come back until I reset the switch and the router. I can remove the switch and connect the tv directly to my router and it works fine. For some reason it only does it through the switch and just with the tv. Any help would be appreciated.

Strange. There's someone else who posted recently about a similar issue except that it does not work directly with the router (I suggested a switch like what you've doing to see if it solves the issue).

The only times I've seen this is when there's just something the two devices at the end don't like about each other and can't negotiate a proper connection. Another thing it can be is the cable, and you could try using the cables for the playstation and xbox and see if that makes a difference. Otherwise, I believe if you change the switch to a different brand/model it will work fine as the issue would stop happening.

A long shot is that Samsung has a series of defects in their television ethernet controllers, and that would be a big recall and take a lot of time to get serviced/fixed if that's the case.

How many links from switch to router? What IP is it h TV getting? Does Samsung have any firmware updates for your tv?

I had pretty much the same issue with my Samsung Smart tv, except I had a Trendnet switch. My switch turned out to be my issue, and I've had no problems since replacing it about a year & a half ago. Good luck with your issue!

Should you decide to replace/try another switch, I have my Samsung Smart TV connected using a TP-Link TL-SG105.
