I just bought it. At .20mm dot pitch, I couldnt refuse (my current is .27 and I plan on doing dual monitor with those great V2 win2k drivers that make the v2 a regular display device).

I have an ACER 79g 17 inch monitor that I run 1600X1200 and it works great. I use large fonts with it but absolutely love the space the large desktop provides.

That's .20mm horizontal not vertical. Most manufactures use vertical to measure pitch which is a higher number. By using the horizontal to measure pitch you get a lower number which fools the average consumer into thinking it's a better monitor.

This is a good monitor though. I own one and it suits my needs very well. Crisp 2D and nice 3D.

ZDNet Explains dot pitch fairly well, and according to their calculation, (diagonal dot pitch * .866, which goes from diagonal to horizontal, we want diagonal so you divide horizontal by .866) you get .23. Definately not bad, so I'm not canceling it But definately good to know Fumiup, thanks for the info! I had no clue that there were two ways of measuring dot pitch, no wonder samsung specifies that it horizontal...

uh... this monitor can only do 1280 x 1024 @ 66Hz. This monitor is best for 1024 x 768 @ 85Hz or 1152 x 864 @ 75Hz. It's one of the best bang-for-the-buck monitor I've ever purchased. I got for $155 from Amazon or $125 if I get my rebate.

i use the 900IFT and it uses the same type of flat screen technology and I LOVE MY SAMSUNG!!

i would have to believe that this monitor is just as flat and clear... as long as you dont need to go to a higher res than 1024x768 or maybe 1152x864 this should be awesome!!

I can now personally vouch for this monitor. I ordered it from Buy.Com on monday. It just so happends they have a warehouse here on Long Island, so it spend tuesday in transit and got here today . This monitor is amazing, for the price it is well worth it. It is quite bright, the colors are vibrant and it is much clearer than my old .27mm dot pitch monitor.
