I stopped buying Sony and Netgear in the early 2000s simply because they wouldn't honor their warranty.
Bigger companies feel they can get away with selling you junk and not honoring the guarantee or warranty they claim at the time of the sale. I feel like your issue is more related to offshoring of the warranty/support team to incompetent people/departments that simply don't do their job. That's almost worse than having the warranty team tell me they can't help me over the phone on a USB enclosure and wifi router that was stopped working when it heated up.
