I should clarify; she has been to disneyland in her teens, and on fast trips to Gilroy repeatedly with her folks as a child.
I have been to Yosemite, both inland and the coast from SF to LA, flown into lots of other places, etc. it is her trip.

Lived there for 25 years. I could not have been happier to finally leave. Traffic, crime, dirty air...and libruls...OMG! teh libruls!

Aneewai...back on topic. IMO, San Francisco is "1/4 mile pretty." It looks nice from afar...but once you get up close...where you can actually see the "details," it just becomes another filthy city full of crime, homeless people, and OMFG! the traffic...

That famous NYC Halal truck is supposed to show up in SF at some point, not sure when...there are a few foodtruck spots in Oakland, Berkeley, El Cerrito throughout the week. There are more in SF, I'm sure...I forget where they hang out.

My favorite is the taco truck next to my place (Albany/basically Berkeley). Did I mention my closet?

OMG i love that halal truck. Best $5 I've ever spent in NYC.

If you're into food trucks, definitely check out offthegrid, the best one is at fort mason (the Marina) on Friday nights.

The Halal Guys is definitely my favorite food of NYC. Had it for lunch 3 of the 5 days I was in NYC this past December. Can't wait for their location here.

You haven't lived until you try their halal chicken rice with the white dressing sauce. TBH, the last time I had it was more than 7 years ago, hence the $5/plate.

Only been in NYC once in my life for a 2 days, and I randomly came upon some halal cart and had a gyro. Holy balls that thing was epic. That was the only thing I ate then entire time i was there.

If I can convince you to move that party to the Water Bar just a bit down the road, next to Epic Restaurant, across from Palomino, underneath the bridge, well almost... They have better view and imho better oysters. My hood. :awe:

Don't know if they have happy hours on the weekends, but it's dollar oyster during happy hours.

Sunday just works for everyone's schedule's. I am totally fine with moving the location though; only picked the Ferry Building because it was easy. Always up for better food! :awe:

There's a good pho place in Daly city off Westborough calls pho Saigon. There aren't anything in the ferry building that I'd recommend, I mean, edible but not recommend.

Daly city is like...another city.

which is to say, in Chicago, that would be like South loop vs Rogers Park. so, really...well, you'd still be in Chicago. but not here.

Out here, no one wants to go anywhere "outside" of the city. because that involves work. and cars, and being too far away from the golden idol of SF. :awe:

I live very near the Vietnamese neighborhood in Chicago; we know how to pho too . Pho tastes best when hungover/feeling busted in the morning.

I will be in Seattle sometime this year though, so I'll drop you a line. Maybe we can rub beards? :wub:
