In the past, places have had 256 SD cards (even Lexars) for ~$70 with a $20 rebate available as well, which is better than the before rebate cost here.

If you need some SD, a good deal is the Kingston 128SD for $30. See the 256 CF from Kingston thread. Check it out if 128MB is enough for you

just go get it at costco. online it's listed as $70 for sandisk, $80 for simpletech (one of the best brands out there for SD. maybe THE best). i think there are rebates in the store

isn't sandisk SD's the ones w/ all the problems w/ data integrity and such?

i've seen tons of reviews on them stating this along w/ user reviews at newegg, amazon, and buy.com just to name a few

Them's the ones. Run, don't walk away from Sandisk for a while. Stores will be "dumping" some of the "questionable" ones while Sandisk scrambles to replace them with (hopefully) "fixed" cards. Those of you with Dell Axim's in particular should avoid Sandisk SD cards.

If you're willing to play with coupons and rebates, you can get them at Staples for $40 or so (256MB SanDisk). I ordered a couple before I read the threads at AximSite. I haven't decided whether to keep 'em and ask SanDisk to replace them with properly working units or send them back to Staples.

You really should stop slandering Sandisk. I have 2 of these exact cards. I also have a Axim in which it works perfectly.

Seems about 50/50 for people with working/non-working SanDisk SD cards in the Axim. I've decided to wait until my cards arrive tomorrow and check the numbers for the new "working" models #AR0307NS (or NC). The 0307N types are apparently newly manuf. cards which don't have the compatibility cards. Gt - sounds like you're one of the lucky ones, tho you might find some wood to knock on, just in case ;-)

there's the $59 cruzer deal at buy.com right now ($10 coupon). includes the cruzer flash drive, into which you can insert your SD cards.

I have 2 sandisk sd cards and a cruzer, use them in my lowrance recording sonar/gps, in my audiovox maestro, and for data transfer between pc's with the cruzer. No problems.

Yeah, I don't see any rebates for this, and it's showing up as 89.98 on staples. And the only coupon i could find is 5 off 25...

I just got the sandisk 256mb sd card for 65 from costco today. so far it seems to be working fine on my toshiba e350. and it was the AR0306LR made in china version (i was a bit disappointed when i opened the package). But it hasn't been giving me any of the problems the axim users have been having...
