Few months ago I began thinking about upgrading my 4 year old computer, but decided to postpone for sandy bridge and better SSD. I would now like to know how the current situation stands.

This is the only good mini-itx board I could find for socket 1156, and would like to know if it would be a good fit for the i5-2400S. I'm not too familiar with that chipset.

I also spotted this SSD:

285MB/sec write and 275MB/sec read seems really fast. But I don't have much of a clue when it comes to SSD.

So basically, I'm not really familiar with todays cpu and ssd and would like to know your advice on those parts.

Sandy Bridge is socket 1155, so you need to be looking at these if you need a mini itx.

The vertex 2's are solid, but OCZ is kind of notorious for their rebates. I wouldn't count on seeing that $20 anytime soon, if ever.

edit: wow, I'm absolutely terrible at linking

^ that gut is right. Don't wreck that beautiful processor on a 1156 board. Sandy Bridge is 1155. The SSD is fine.

Just wondering, is there any interest is showing us the specs on the rest of the parts?

I got all of my rebates from OCZ. They do tend to take a long time though.

The Vertex 2 is a good choice. Just FYI, don't rely too much on those max sustained read/write specs. Random read/writes for small files is much more important. Just look for reviews.

Never had a problem with OCZ rebates either. I agree with Blackmage and David regarding the Vertex 2.

If you really want mini-ITX, the Intel BOXDH67CF looks like a good choice, but it sure is pricy compared to the Micro ATX offerings.

Took four months for me to get my $30 rebate from OCZ for a PSU, but I did get it.

The DH67CF is a great choice. I got one last week and have it running with an i5 2500k. It's the first Intel board I've ever used and I have no complaints so far.

It is a bit pricey compared to the other mITX and mATX boards.
