These are the Sandisk - Sansa Series

512 for $51.99 ( m230)
1gb for $77.56 (m240)
2gb for $109.99 (m250)
4gb back to $159.99 was $149.99 (m260)

Here is a link to CC's 512mb (don't confuse this with the E series, the M series is smaller)

The Sansa's are very nice. The lcd is very simple with a blue backlit. This turns off when you are running out of batteries. The sansa says it lasts about 18 hours, I've left it on all day and it was still working, about 20 hours.

The player is plug and play, you can drag and drop from file explorer, I had trouble with computers with wmp10, because wmp wants to synchronize my player no idea wtf. So there is no third party software that you need to use.

I like the sandisks thats y im posting this up.

Here are Newegg's prices for the sansa.

512 - $59.99 (circuit city cheaper by 8 dollars)
1gb - $69.99 (circuit city more expensive by 8 dollars)
2gb - $115.99 (circuit city cheaper by 6 dollars)
4gb - (they don't carry this)

Also add in the fact that you do not have to pay shipping and you can get it right away.

I believe the 512 is the e130.
I got an email about it.
It's regular price at techdepot.com and Office Depot is $54.
I don't mean to thread crap. The m240 is probably on sale too.
I checked the e130 when I got the email.

Office depot has discontinued the e130 but keeps it on display in their stores.
It's been removed from their website.
They still feature it in their advertisements but every store I've contacted tells me they'll never get any more in stock.

It's still a current item at techdepot.com (an Office Depot company).
I haven't seen a sale price at techdepot.com but I think their regular price was $54. It's also stocked at CUSA, BestBuy, Walmart as well as Circuit City but I forget their prices.

When I researched them a while back, OD and TD had the best prices. Everyone else's regular and sale prices were waaay higher in comparison.

Supposedly, Sandisk's "e" line is being replaced with thier "m" line.
The "e" line takes memory cards. The "m" line doesn't take memory cards.

I just bought one of the E140's from Buy.com, I wanted the E130, but it wasn't in stock so it didn't qualify for free shipping. The rebates just ended yesterday and the price has gone up though, I got mine for $67.45 after a 10% off coupon - $10 rebate, so $57.45 final.

The E series has an SD slot (which officially supports up to 2GB cards, but some people have reported being able to use 4GB), I wish they would've made the entire sansa line just a little bit larger to accommodate a 2nd AAA battery though.

If you can find an E series player for a comparable price they're probably a better investment.

Can you point me to where you heard that?? I have a e130 -- which I love -- and was trying to figure out why it wouldn't support a 4gb. I haven't put a 2gb in it, but it supposedly would treat all available memory as 1 2.5gb space... which doesn't make sense as a "max".
I'm in the market for an expansion card for it and wouldn't mind spending a few dollars more for a 4gb over a 2gb.

edit: btw... i got the e130 at OD for $35ar/ac -- but I've seen them at mwave for ~$50ish

$51 at amazon

Here's the thread where I saw somebody say their 4GB card worked. He didn't state whether he filled it or not though, so I guess he could be spreading fud. You should PM him.
