That was kind of funny, but a few lines go horribly off note LOL.

Though I don't have an problem with Santa Claus and all that jazz - it's fun for the kids, as long as kids know the real meaning of Christmas, and Santa is just a "add on". I rememer as a child the excitement of hoping I hear santa on the roof, and trying to stay awake, then getting up the next morning and seeing the gifts under the tree.

Eventually there comes a time where the parents have to tell their kids that Santa is not real as they are more grown up. A christian child probably wont really care all that much. A non christian child will probably burst out crying, realizing that all this time Christmas was just a big joke.

My only concern was that the loot chute would close up once my parents figured out that I didn't believe in Santa. I had a bunch of older siblings so there never was a time I believed in Santa.

It is known that Christmas is a pagan holiday but saying you will go to hell is ridiculous. And I don't think anything is being "idolized" although it is possible depending on how serious (in my opinion, mentally ill) you are about Christmas. Idolizing something requires worship or life devotion to it in some fashion.

Either way, these people are nuts.

I just got done watching that 58 min video and I have got to mention a few things:

Some of the things they say in the video are actually supported by scripture. When they just talk about it they have decent reasoning, but the way they go about "teaching" (AKA with picket signs and yelling) the scripture is not an acceptable form of worship.

I have to wonder what version of the bible they read. I had several things come to mind that would come straight from the bible that tells them what they are doing is flat out wrong. Reasoning from the bible is the only way to prove to these guys what they do is wrong. Also, they have many false ideas. It isn't just limited to carrying out correct ideas in an incorrect way.

That being said, they wouldn't listen to me, they'd listen to "gramps" which IS idolizing as they hold his word over the message of the bible.

And speaking of "gramps", that guy is a coward. He would not answer that reporters' question because he is afraid of getting caught. And when he called that reporter an idiot, that is going directly against scripture and proves he is afraid of being wrong.

"Prophets" of God are supposed to help understanding of the scripture. Anyone reaching out to know truth should have it taught to them, but from the bible, not from some guy that is reaching insanity.

EDIT:

For anyone that is interested... this proves God did not burn down that church or kill soldiers. Read 1 John 5:19 and for clarification read the description below. Clearly points out the bible says Satan is in control of the world, not God. (I googled "1 john 5:19 king james" and this was the first hit, I do not support this site in any way).

And for people that get hit by cars... this (at the end... "but time and chance happeneth to them all") explains that we cannot control our misfortunes. It isn't because God hates you that you were ran over.

So you agree with some or much of what they're saying, but disagree with the wording or presentation. In my view, there isn't much of a difference here -- if your position is that you're going to be saved and the rest of the world is going to hell, then you're not far removed from the Westboro clan -- it's just a question of the volume and style of expression.
