In case some of you are wondering about pricematch, I went to Circuit City today and PM'ed it easy. Plus it's cheaper than buying it at CompUSA. Only costed me 46.99. You can just print out the add from CompUSA's website.

the Santa Cruz and the Fortissmo uses the same brand of DSP but the model is different. If i recall right the fortismo 2 chipset idffer from the Santa Cruz in model number. So that is why the santa cruz cost slightly more than the fortismo 2. Both are great cards i would never use a Creative crap again

I just tried the CC near me and they said no because the ad says 6 channel and the box says 5.1. I may have to try another store tomorrow.

Uh... 5.1 is 6 channel sound.
2 front, 2 rear, 1 center = 5 + 1 sub = 6.
And there is only ONE model of Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. You were completely lied to. If I were you, I'd go back to CC and raise hell... get somebody's job. :|

So...I have the SBLive X-Gamer in my rig. I happened to just get a TB SC from my friend for another "secondary" PC I'm building. Should I be replacing my SBLive in my *primary* PC with the SC and use the SBLive in the *secondary* PC? Seems like everyone thinks the SC is much better... I am not having issues with SB drivers (although I do know what everyone is talking about. Liveware 2.x was just horrendous).

And in order to use the 5.1 support, don't you have to have special 5.1 digital speakers or something? Or do you have to hook it up to a 5.1 receiver.... Cuz most 5.1 capable receivers have 5.1 decoding built in anyway. And if I get a 5.1 receiver it's going in the LIVING ROOM, not by the PC!

I just picked up the Santa Cruz from CUSA yesterday. I've been using the Cmedia 8738 onboard my Asus P4S333 with my Logitech Z560. Frankly, I think my system sounded better before with the Cmedia. There seems to be cracklingI am using Win 2k. What drivers did yall use? I used the windows 2000 drivers found here. Also, what setting do yall use in Winamp? Directsound or wave out? my cmedia sounded best with directsound, but SC is really low volume on directsound.

Tigerbait, don't kid yourself, the Cmedia 8738 cards are nice...as nice as most cards, and a lot less expensive.

I just PM with my local CC. I wanted to buy it from CC anyway in case I didn't like the card as well as my MX300 Aureal card. I really hate restocking fee's.

Dunno if you will be successful PM'ing CC if they know that there aren't any CUSA's in your area. I have that same problem with Staples because the closest one is about 100 miles from me.

Scooped up the last 2 of these cards at the CC on Mt. Zion in the Atlanta area. Pricematched without a hitch and just under $100 out the door. Thanks for the info everyone as your assistance was greatly appreciated.

How are you guys getting the cards for under $50? I thought that the 110% PM was just for when you bought the card previously and then went back to them with a better deal within 30 days?
