Well, do like i did.
Wait till your card craps out and get a SC j/j. Im not saying that creative makes bad cards (i had a sbl value for forever, was happy with it at the time), im just saying that the SC sounds better to me and most people on this forum. Thats the only reason i bought the SC, in ALOT of threads people went on and on about how awesome it is. They were right...

I dont see how an SC sound card could sound better than an Audigy.......

I prefer the Audigy to Santa Cruz but to me the Phillips AE sounds better then both of them,my point is simple sound quality is different for each person, there`s no best sound card just lots of good ones ,your ears are the most important factor .
In the end it does not matter what sound card you`ve ,as long as you`re happy with it .Remember good sound cards deserve good speakers as well.

Guys, I DJ, and having the breakout box is an important piece of what I do.... with it I can take and put inputs right into the computer w/less hassle then running them through a mixer...

The remote would come in handy, for instance if I was dj'n and stopped a song, came out and talked to some of the people or explained a certain way something went, I could just take out my remote, hit play, and not have to worry about going back to the setup...

And for your information, it doesn't suck... even playing mp3's over $300 a piece speakers running through a very spendy mixer and amp = damn nice crisp highs and booming lows...

I'm not suckered into anything. I like the audigy and wouldn't hesitate bothering with anythign else because it's gotten me along just fine no problems.

Thank you.

I would have a Santa Cruz now if I could get one up here in Canada.. I've been searching the for sale/for trade forum nearly daily for one, but that's a no go so far..

the one deciding factor for me in choosing between the GTXP, Santa Cruz, and Acoustic Edge is that I hear it is the only one with Linux support. Otherwise I would be searching for an Acoustic Edge instead (I don't think I need the breakout box of the GTXP).

does anyone in Canada know of a store with the Santa Cruz that will ship it somewhere?

Amazon.com has it for $70, there are some $5 off coupons floating around. I used that and just got it for $66 shipped. I don't know if they ship to Canaga though.

Ill go buy another one and we can trade for cuban cigars.

I have had all three and i like the SC better, but like the guy above said. Its all about personal preference.

Got myself an SC too, and it sounds great under XP and my Klipsch 4:1's. MP3's as well as games rock. Strong sound with powerfull output. Most importantly, no cracks, pops and crashes that Creative's piss poor drivers and cards deliver.

If you are running XP, there is simply no other choice but the TB SC. Creative can't write drivers, period

How does the Acustic Edge compare to the SC and the Audigy in terms of sound quality?

To me it sounds better then either Audigy or Santa Cruz for music,MP3s etc, however I do like my Audigy for gaming it rocks! .

Nothing wrong with my Audigy drivers in WinXP ,had zero problems period,I`m hardcore gamer as well, there`re other choices sound card wise, believe or not the Santa Cruz is not the only card that works well in XP .

I have the SB Platinum, I have installed the Snata Cruz and Herc XP in other systems.
All 3 are very good and you can't go wrong.
SB sounds a little better in games, Santa Cruz sounds better for Music and Game Theatre sounds very good for games and music and is more convenient with the Break out box.

Any card would be a good choice.
It depends all on how much you want to spend.
But for Value the Santa Cruz can't be beat.

As ususal, you're being an idiot. I don't have an audigy at home but I do have one in my machine at mudshark studios. I used it for that review. Remember? I really wish you wouldn't drag irrelevant info from one thread to another. It's called neffing.

I don't have turntables there smarty! I'm a dj like on the radio, I just got the music and play it, while running the light show and the fog machine... ever been to a wedding dance? That's what I do.

And ya, I was testy last night... you try to work on something for a fricken 2 hour period when it doesn't matter because ungreatful bastards don't appreciate it anyways...

incase you don't believe me
and another

there you go.

How about the Seismic Edge compared with the AE? I heard that they use the same chips and stuff except the SE doesn't haev SPIF out. Anyone have both of these card can compare? You can pick up the SE for $20 and the AE for $60. Any reason for the difference in price?
