Sanus BF-24B Speaker stands (pair) 39.85 + shipping/no Tax except for AZ

I was looking around for these speaker stands and every one sells them for 59.95, notably Best Buy. I needed stands for my Dolby Surround so I was interested in these as they were not too expensive. I found a place in AZ that sells these AVstreet.com and other sizes cheaper and no tax. BeastBuy would have been 129.90 including tax. I bought from AVstreet.com for 79.70 plus 14 bucks shipping for around 94.00 for 2 pairs (4 stands). Boxes weigh 15-20 lbs apiece so 14.00 for shipping 30-40 lbs seems reasonable. Update: I was just sent an e-mail from AVstreets.com and my shipping will be an additional 7.00 because the weight, the two boxes can't be put into one box for shipping. So it will be shipped in the two boxes. This wasn't a surprise since there was a disclaimer to this effect. Still, at 101.00 total, it's still 29.00 cheaper than Bestbuy or Crutchfield.


Second update:
They were able to put both boxes in one box so the shipping remained at ~14.00. Total price is 94.00 shipped.

They don't look too bad....have you received them yet? if so, let us know what you think about the build quality. hiding the cables in the post is a good idea, but then there's the fact that it's hollow, dunno how that'll affect the strength of the column. Thanks again tho, maybe if I pick up some Paradigm or Axiom bookshelfs this summer, I'll pick up a pair of these too.

I just ordered them last night, but I have seen them at BestBuy. They seem solid enough for my Jamo's. My fronts are 17" high 3-ways and the rears are 12" high 2-ways. The speakers weigh 8-10 each. At best buy, they had a speaker a little larger and heavier than mine and it seemed pretty stable. They also come with plastic carpet spikes that can be placed on the bottom of the stand for added support.

By the way, AVstreet.com e-mailed me just a few minutes ago and my shipping will be another 7.00. When I was checking out they did have a disclaimer that said if multiple boxes are purchased and they can't be placed into one box (because of weight), there will be additional shipping cost. 101.00 is still 29.00 cheaper than bestbuy. I'll keep you posted when I receive them.

I just received them last week and finally got around to putting them together. They seem solid, nice finish (black) and the speakers match the stands perfectly. They are solid enough for 10-15 lbs at least. I have a pair if 17" high 3-way Jamo's in front and and 12" 2-way Jamo's for the rears. So the top height in front is 41" and the rear top height is 36". I read somewhere that the proper speaker height should be 35"-45", which is where your ear level would be when sitting. Don't know if this is true, could be someone's BS. The Dolby 5.1 sounds great with the setup, and the looks are good too.

By the way, AVstreet.com did a nice job with my order. They put both pairs of speaker stands in one box so my shipping was only ~14.00, no tax. I saved 36 by getting them from AVstreet and not Beastbuy. My order was shipped out the next day after I ordered, unlike some other e-tailers I told they guy at AVstreet.com if they did a good job, I would recommend them to my friends. They're located in AZ, so everyone else is tax free except for AZ.

I just bought a pair of these for my surround speakers. Don't know how good they are but folks from dvdtalk.com (where goes the credit) give them decent reviews. Comes to $36 including shipping to NY.

The shipping was 14.00 to me for both pairs. I live in the BayArea, but I don't think ground UPS changes much wherever you might be. A couple bucks either way. If you order, just ask to put both pairs (4 stands) in one box. I called and they're very reasonable people. I think his name was Gary if I am not mistaken.

The stands were just under 40/pair so add the 7.00 shipping per pair (average), and it's 47 for two stands, (a pair). BeastBuy was 59.99 per pair plus tax, so both pairs would have cost a shade under 130.00. AVstreets.com has zero tax except for AZ residents.

i use another pair of bookshelf speakers as the speaker stand to support my bookshelf speakers.
