Sapphire 1900XTX Cooling Concerns

I have a small concern regarding the fan on Sapphire 1900XTX, regardless of temps, the fun speed doesn;t adjust and it remains under 10% at all temp ranges. I have tried Ati Tray tool 0.25 Beta 14 to regulate my fan speed but I wanted to know is there any other way, because when I use Ati tool software, when the temps gets high - the higher fan speed kicks in but when it reaches somewhere above 85% fan speed, it'll just turn off the fan and this is something I don't want to run the risk of destroying my video card with.

Thanks.

I'd call the video card maker or e-mail them. maybe they know a way to force the fan full speed. You could also hard wire it to whatever voltage it runs on at full speed. However, that would void your warranty for sure!

Don't do anything to it that would void the warranty!

If the fan speed isn't adjusting then there is a problem with it, and as such i'd be dropping saphire an email asking how to fix it or an RMA number. If it's got one thing wrong with it the odds of there being two is notably higher.

Are you using the fan speed adjustment on ATI Tray Tool correctly? Are you setting it up to be dynamic, based on temp... or just telling it to stay at 100% all the time? If you set it up dynamic, it will kick in when the GPU reaches x#C and then it will drop back down to whatever % you told it for the setting below. To make sure your fan can stay on 100%, click the option to keep it at 100% all the time. Obviously, that's loud and you likely won't want to keep it that way... I just want to rule out a faulty fan before we move on to other ideas.

My XTX is set up so that the fan stays at 27% until the temp reaches 70C, when it kicks up to 50%. That happens in my house fairly often (summer comes early in Texas). I can't really hear the fan go from 27% to 50%. Then, the next step for mine is at 80C I think where it goes to 100%. I can hear it kick in to that when gaming unless I'm wearing my cans. It usually goes in and out from 100% every few minutes as the temp ranges from 78C to 83C while gaming. I might set up a profile to just keep it at a full 100% while gaming so I don't hear the wind up/down.

If the fan doesnt work properly under normal drivers, and no ATI Tool, then it would be best to contact Sapphire. If they somehow reject your claim, then check out the Zalman VF series coolers.

A $500 video card, and you're worried about a $30 aftermarket cooler?????????

Yeah, I have been using the dymanic ones... IT doesn't always work, let me tell ya. I suspect as this is still a beta software. I've contacted Sapphire regarding the fan concern, all I have to do is wait for their response. I emailed them so...

Yes because I expect my product to be in full working order and not defect so thus no more expense.

Where would I find out about this? I'm not aware about flashing bios on graphic cards...
