i have an old 400sc that i want to use this with. i used to have a 9800pro but that had a noisy fan. i sold that one and now thinking to go back to 9800 pro with this card, but would a dell chassis be cool enough to let the heatsink on the card do the job or would i be risking overheating both the card and the chassis

It only stipulates OEM. Which means most likely no box, no cables, and no CD with drivers on it. Which is no big deal really.

I was just about to order the 6800 from newegg for $159 shipped, and this made me hesitate on that... but I do some heavy gaming from time to time and my HP doesn't have the best ventiliation, so I don't trust passively cooled cards.

Bump for a great deal, but I'm going for the 6800.

You must not know much about the 9800 series cards. Look at some pictures of them. That heatsink that is on it doesn't do ANYTHING. If you touch it you'll be burned instantly (i've had 9600xt's and 9800pro). The fan doesn't even blow that hard. Now look at the picture of the card in this topic. Look how BIG that heatsink is. It will cool it just fine and better than the Radeon 9800 cards with the dinky heatsinks.

I am 99% sure the Sapphire "Lite" 9800 cards are 128-bit, slower than the normal 9800 Pro.

The Lite version should also be the 256 bit card according to Sapphire.
