256mb, 32bit mem bus. Can't get much more crippled than that.

I guess good for older systems with onboard video or a backup card to RMA your new 7970 etc.

32 bit memory bus? I have a 5450 and I don't remember exactly what its width was but I don't think it was that low....

that's b/c most 5450's have a 64-bit memory bus. there are a few oddballs out there that have added/cut-back features, such as 32-bit memory bus, or 2GB of VRAM.

32bit bus? will that even handle hd video? doesnt seem like it. maybe as a spare card in case your main card dies and you dont want to be left without a computer for a few days.... watch out for the 2d performance though! Lol

If you scroll down the product description shows 64-bit DDR3 memory. I wonder if the product name was a typo?

yeah, i just noticed that under the product details. i'm not really sure what to believe about this card. there is a Sapphire HD 5450 at newegg that's 64-bit, but the part # differs from the one on amazon by one digit, so i don't know...

nevertheless, if you search the HD 5450's at newegg, you'll see that there are 32-bit versions out there...

Will a 32bit bus really be that much of a limitation for a 5450? Sure that's only 4GB/s bandwidth at 1GHz effective, but it's not really like the core can do much heavy lifting anyway.

i suppose I could halve the mem clockspeed of the 5450 in my htpc and see what it plays. i may try that later today just out of curiosity. at stock speeds it's a great xbmc card
