Sapphire R9 390 gpu load

Bought a new Sapphire R9 390, installed it, installed Crimson 15.12. Ran Furmark and it seemed to run fine. I guess all those reports of Crimson bugs got me paranoid, but I checked Gpu-z after ~15 minutes of CS:GO, and the gpu load graph looked weird to me. Why is the load spiking periodically? The FPS never dropped below 60 (capped it with triple buffered v-sync), so it seemed ok, am I being paranoid?

Wait, I imagined spiking up and down like a slight zig-zag. But your picture shows it going crazy from zero to 100% repeatedly? That's very unusual, almost like you are alt-tabbing out of the game entirely so GPU load drops to zero during that time.

GPU is loaded regardless if the game is full screen or not. EVen if you alt tab, the game is still running, cpu is still calculating, and GPU in turn is still churning out pixels even if you minimize the game windows. I have similar issues on my r9 380. Very weird.

Do you experience any stutter?

Is GPU-Z up to date?

OK so the performance is fine, but the GPU graph is simply wrong because the graph shows zero load, but at times even when the load is clearly non-zero during fine performance of the demo?

Try another benchmark, because Furmark is specifically identified as a power virus by your video card drivers, so it might just be doing this on purpose when Furmark is detected.

Don't play CS:GO with v-sync. Besides the input lag added by triple-buffering, you want the highest FPS possible to reduce input lag.
