Not really.

From Newegg RMA policy page:

A 15% restocking fee will be applied to all returns for refund

I've returned 7-8 items to them over the past 2 years (including 2 this month) and they have never charged me a penny. I know many others who have returned products to them and never been charged as well.

Just got mine. It is a Saphire Radeon with 3.3 ns Infineon ram. \bios says 9500 800400.8004.
Ran the Wizard Hack for the 3.2 9800 Pro. Absolutely no Artifacts in Mark 2001 Or 2003. Card overclocks to 333 without memory artifacts and 370 on Core. Wanted to get this in so people would know that there are some good cards in this deal. By the way Morrowind at 6XAA and 8AF at 1024X768 is gorgeous.

welll....my fsb is set to 146.... you think that's the problem?

Depends on if your motherboard has it's AGP bus locked or not.

do you mean the 3:4 thing? I think that that gets disable beyond 133 fsb...

Kevman sounds like a driver conflict. First go here and download thisDrive cleaner It will clean any old drivers either NVidia or ATI or your computer.

Start up in VGA mode. Just hit f8 a bunch of times when the first boot up screen comes on
Delete any video drivers you have.
Reboot in VGA mod and run Drivecleaner
Reboot in VGA mode and install CAT 3.2
Reboot in VGA mode and intall the Control Panel
Then Reboot as Normally and you should be golden.
If the error persists there are some more Draconian measures you can Take but this should do it.

In your advanced settings in the video control what does it call it? It should say 9500 and tell you your bios. If not you can manually load them. Do get the control panel for the 3.2 Cats. Give you much greater functionality.

Hey at least the Infinite loop is gone. Then maybe try the hack and see if she overclocks well.

You can either try loading them again or manually forcing them. Right click on your desktop and click new and make a folder. Click on the ATI CAT drivers and when asked where to put them point to the desktop folder. When it asks to install just stop it. Go into properties for the video card and choose update driver then opt to install them yourself then I have CD go to the desktop folder and choose for the 9500.

Or uninstall the drivers and try the ones on the CD.

Should I pick up the ATI control panel from AtI's website? or is there one specific for the cat dirvers?

Just go to www.rage3d.com they have both the drivers and the control panel there. Each Cat has its own control panel.
While your there check on the forums and lurk in the Tweaking and overclocking section. They will be happy to tell you how to soft mod your card and overclock it if you have a mind to.

Oh just tried 3DMark with this 160$ Radeon 9700
3DMark with a little work should be able to hit 5600.

Ok, just tested the newegg board on a nv7-133r and got a 3dmark03 score of 3891 with no artifacting except in the cpu test 2. I ran some other test Doom3 was checkboarding but ran ok. Nba Live 2003, Mafia, MOHAA: Spearhead, Jedi Knight 2 all ran flawlessly. No problems at all. Im really starting to think that there are no broken pipes, that this checkerboard problem has something to do with drivers or maybe even RAM to CPU sync. Im going to run the hell out of this board for the next week and ill tell you what i get.

wow so quick to return. The same thing happened to me, but it was just a problem of installing the drivers incorrectly.
