kevman do you have your agp overclocked?

welll....my fsb is set to 146.... you think that's the problem?

Depends on if your motherboard has it's AGP bus locked or not.

do you mean the 3:4 thing? I think that that gets disable beyond 133 fsb...

I'm not an expert on this, but I beleive that it's motherboard dependent.

Just got mine. It is a Saphire Radeon with 3.3 ns Infineon ram. \bios says 9500 800400.8004.
Ran the Wizard Hack for the 3.2 9800 Pro. Absolutely no Artifacts in Mark 2001 Or 2003. Card overclocks to 333 without memory artifacts and 370 on Core. Wanted to get this in so people would know that there are some good cards in this deal. By the way Morrowind at 6XAA and 8AF at 1024X768 is gorgeous.

When did you order it? (My order is still at the warehouse....:|)

Ordered it las Thursday evening.

Thanks -- I ordered Friday afternoon (Order STILL at the warehouse....)

got it working with checkerboarding effect with the 9700 softmod,

Should I RMA it or keep it? Is this card worth it as a standalone 9500?

Not really.

From Newegg RMA policy page:

A 15% restocking fee will be applied to all returns for refund

I've returned 7-8 items to them over the past 2 years (including 2 this month) and they have never charged me a penny. I know many others who have returned products to them and never been charged as well.

sent you a PM about this, did you call them or RMA online?

I'd like to know that too. The one RMA I did online with them cost me 15%.

They have two kind of RMAs. If they are replacing the product because the one that you got is defective, you will pay nothing but shipping to ship yours back but if you want a refund, they will charge a 15% restocking fee. I have bought many many items from them and just last week I did my first RMA on a motherboard that didn't work right.

I've always done it over the phone, never even had to ask for them to waive it.

Even if Doom3 itself is not up your alley
plenty of nextgen games will be using its engine.

As far as I can tell mine worked fine, fillrate was 2191 and 3d mark was 14416. Have only ran Unreal2 so far and no artifacts or checkerboarding

This sux, I just got my card from Newegg today, and already from the bios screen I get artifacts. Hasn't even booted to windows and its already messing up. Are these cards refurbished or something? Now I am afraid they won't believe when I tell them what happened. They are probably going to think I couldn't mod it. My FSB is at 175, but I have an Epox 8rda+ so the agp bus is locked right?

I bought one of these cards right when this hack was first discovered.

My card works great, but sometimes has some weird things happening like burrens when the computer posts. Once it gets into windows it is fine.

It doesn't happen a lot, and all games run perfectly... I'd say 1 in 100 boots have weird things happening with text until getting into windows. Maybe its a bug with the bios or something, but I'm happy with my card.

Obviously card is defective. AGP is locked on 8RDA+.

Vrangel, I've never dealt with Newegg before, do you think I will have any problems getting another card? Hopefully they will ship me a red pcb one again.

Newegg is awesome about returns on defective gear. They'll even do free overnight to you if you ask them to. If they still have the red one in stock you'll get a red pcb again. Fastest way is just to order another one and have them credit you when they recieve the RMA back.

Red and black cards are different items on newegg.
Red-$160, black-$159. So they have to get you a red one.

Doom 3 isnt going to be out for a long while, and even then it still might be delayed. Then it takes quite a while for anyone to license the engine. Also DX 8 games are finally coming out. So by the time all that rolls around i figure 2 more genarations of video card will have came out. So i wouldnt worry about that to much. Plus i still think its something it the drivers that are causeing the checkerboarding. IMO

Id software has impressive track record of NOT delaying their games.
Doom3 is expected to be out by summer. Just last month some vendors began accepting preorders.
Engine itself has been finished almost a year ago and some games using it are already in development.
Quake4 certainly is.
