This sux, I just got my card from Newegg today, and already from the bios screen I get artifacts. Hasn't even booted to windows and its already messing up. Are these cards refurbished or something? Now I am afraid they won't believe when I tell them what happened. They are probably going to think I couldn't mod it. My FSB is at 175, but I have an Epox 8rda+ so the agp bus is locked right?

that looks just like the 9700, is that the correct picture?
No, not in the mod, but in the overclocking ability.Do the memory types make a difference in the mod?

It seems the worst memory for overlcoking is the Inferion 3.3.
I actually have that memory.
There are three types of memory known for the red board.
Over at the amdmb.com forum there seems to be a strange pattern emerging.
More people with the Nforce2 chipset are getting it to work then any other and
by a good bit. It might just be luck, but who knows. It might have something to
do with the Nforce2 locking the AGP bus speed.

Well, to hedge my bets, I've just ordered the ATI 9500 Pro (refurbished) for $147 shipped.
If the mod doesn't take, I'll stick with the 9500 pro. If the mod does take, I'll sell the 9500 pro. (which seem to be very hard to find nowdays)
The 9500 Pro? - Unfortunately, no. The Pro version already has the full 8 pipelines enabled, so doing the mod accomplishes nothing. The issue with the Pro is that it only has a 128-bit memory bus, a physical limitation of the board itself. Sorry!

Sorry, but the 9500pro doesn't mod.

What are you talking about? I said I was sticking with the 9500 pro if the 9500np doesn't mod.
I know the 9500pro doesn't mod.
