If I'm not banned from the forum (I posted a hotdeal on this that I guess wasn't HOT) I'm going to give out a WARNING that this card is NOT L SHAPED, atleast not from ENET!!! I just got a black pcb with "I" shaped memory, VERY PISSED! They put up a warning over the weekend (or today perhaps, who knows) stating they do not guarentee they have L shaped! I'm sending mine back, very upset...deeply upset, and I'd like to give a big FU to the liars who stated these were ever L shaped. People, learn your lesson from me if you haven't already, buy a 9600 pro, I just ran this through a shader intensive beta that shall remain nameless, and it ran like #@%#, the whole thing runs like a CHOPFEST whenever anything is largely shiny or shader enhanced. This SUCKS.
BUYER BEWARE, THIS IS A SCAM.

guju: likely they don't know what they're talking about, ati had resellers pull all 9500's w/ that pcb config when they found out about the softmod and threatened legal action to the full extent on anyone who continued selling hackable cards.
tlam: 9000 is not hackable to 9800 fill rate. the couple extra bucks for the 9500 np is worth it if it's a hackable one.. think of it as not quite but damn close to a 9800 pro for only a buck forty.

I'm saving a couple of hundred because the latest hack can push it all the way to a 9800 as well. Also, as far as I know you can not damage your card in any way. If the mod is unsuccessful reinstall the stock drivers and everything should be fine.
A) the hack will prolly not work
B) how can u push it to 9800 when the 9800 uses a different chip?
A. Its about a 50/50 chance and even if it doesnt work you STILL have a good card
B. It reaches that performance level, no one meant it magically becomes a 9800
LOL, this MAY have been 50/50 3 months ago. it's prolly 20% today AT BEST

www.buyxg.com has the L shaped red boards in for 128 shipped. At least that's what they said in the email when I asked. Here's the link to the board. http://www.buyxtremegear.com/9500128mboem.html
And here's the email they replied back to me when i asked.
"To Michael,
The videocard that you are interested is not the same as the picture show. But since the videocard is the OEM version, it doesn't come in the box. And the card is in red color board and the chips is in the L shaped.
If that will be the card that you like, you can place the order in our website www.buyxg.com
Thanks
Eve"
Just FYI though, they have some "specials" on 1 cent rounded ide cables, 1 cent case screws, or 1 cent ps2 mice. If you buy the ati card by itself, shipping is free. If you add one cable, shipping was 7.50 for me. I tried buying 2 cables, 2 screws, 3 fans, and a mouse, and shipping was like 50 bucks. Just got the card instead <shrug> They get their money even though it's only 1 cent
