My board should be coming in today. Can't wait to see if the Softmod works. Anyone else have luck with recent purchases?

I had luck with a recent purchase. I get 9700pro speeds, but not 9800. I do get some minimal artificating at times, but its negligible in most games.

Got my board today. It softmodded without a hitch using the Omega drivers. I can get the card to 303/337. Pretty impressive my fill rate nearly doubled when I did the mod. Great deal! Thanks!

Got mine from newegg last week - works perfectly - no artifacts that I can see anywhere - 3dmark, lastest games, etc.
Running at 345/298 - darn memory won't even hit 300. No complainst though. at least no artifacts.

Got mine today from allstarshop. Did the mod and got artifacts galore! :disgust: Guess it's off to ebay for me. Must keep trying though, even with the artifacting, I could tell this card was kicking butt on "Battle of Procyon" or whatever it's called.

Edit: Went to go look to buy another and now the price is $145! I guess I'll look around some more.

Yup, mine also from allstarshop.com. Artifacts at stock without mods. I guess I got someone's abused?! card that was returned. Will RMA Monday.

You can't RMA it just because it didn't do something it wasn't supposed to do in the first place. Good luck getting it returned though, minus the 15% restocking fee.

allstarshop must be loving it. to resell the same card over and over again.

OMG.....

Allstarshop increase the price from $139 to $159 and they change the card image. They use the old image for Retail version and selling for $169.

I also notice that they change the NOTE (text in red) from "could be turned" to "could NOT be turned".

i was wondering if anyone ordered this card from enetshoponline. the pic has L shaped memory but on black pcb....so what does that mean? did anyone try to softmod?

black pcb means you can't softmod

You need the first generation 9500 pro's whic are the REd PCB and the L shaped memory.

Actually, if the memory configuration is correct, you should still be able to softmod it regardless of the color of PCB.

You can convert L shaped cards to 9700s regardless of the PCB color... but the success rate for this kind of modification has gone down a lot...

If I'm not banned from the forum (I posted a hotdeal on this that I guess wasn't HOT) I'm going to give out a WARNING that this card is NOT L SHAPED, atleast not from ENET!!! I just got a black pcb with "I" shaped memory, VERY PISSED! They put up a warning over the weekend (or today perhaps, who knows) stating they do not guarentee they have L shaped! I'm sending mine back, very upset...deeply upset, and I'd like to give a big FU to the liars who stated these were ever L shaped. People, learn your lesson from me if you haven't already, buy a 9600 pro, I just ran this through a shader intensive beta that shall remain nameless, and it ran like #@%#, the whole thing runs like a CHOPFEST whenever anything is largely shiny or shader enhanced. This SUCKS.
