Still can't beat this for price/performance.
Got one last month on the $30 rebate deal. ATItool fan control keeps the leaf-blower fan near silent at 5% most of the time, and the hot air blows out of the case. Only negs for me were the lack of VIVO and this sucker takes two slots.

great card, even greater price! Runs BF2 at max resolution (13xx by 10xx) no problem. all high setting, and getting average 70fps. compared to my old X800XL AGP, it's about 30% faster IMO.

i just bought a sapphire 1600XT from NewEgg earlier in the week for $111. Much better deal than this.

I don't know about "much better", if its even better at all. Paying more $$ for a slower card with newer features sounds more like a compromise to me.

looked at that chart on tuesday before i ordered and i swear the 1600 was better then than the 850

OK, looked it up and the big difference is that the 1600XT supports shader model 3 and the 850 is shader model 2

These cards rock. Most will do PE speeds right out of the box.

Oh, and for whoever was asking, X850XT > X1600 so don't waste your money.

that exact card was $115 a week ago, no rebates. so its basically like a 13$ off deal. eitehr way its not a bad price for a good card. runs around the speed of a 7600gt, but w/o the new tech.

Yes I know the one with rebate is "retail", but these are open box cards so you can't count on getting all the cables anyway.

It's better because it's new. IF this was an ATI refurb, it'd probably be safe. But Newegg's used items carry a considerable risk. (I.E. far lower standards for determining what is acceptable for a used item) Open box items are almost always cheaper then new.
