I saw that, I might pick up this card if I sell my 7900GT.
edit: Yeah, it beats pretty much any card, but the 7950GX2, and 8800's.

awesome IF you don't mind sitting next to the scream of a concorde.

you may need to factor in the cost of an aftermarket cooling solution to bring
both the noise and incredible heat down.

most 8800GTSs are silent.

The 8800GTS is so silent that I thought it was broken when I booted up for the first time lol. It's an amazing card, I might just splurge for the 320MB instead of this card.

Yes, this is a great card for the money, EXCEPT for one small problem - you will most likely not receive your rebate from Sapphire.

Despite knowing via these forums that Sapphire rebates were notoriously bad, I still persisted and bought this card. I followed every rebate instruction to the "T" and used a mailing option to verify the rebate submission was received. They still denied my rebate for, get this, failing to submit the rebate. What a joke ! When I called the rebate phone number and told them I had proof of submission & receipt of delivery they still would not grant me my $20.

So, plan on paying $179 for this card instead of $149, unless you get extremely lucky with the rebate.

This card is working well for me so far, but it can get very loud.

According to their rebate411 site, my submission is "qualified" and it I guess is on it's way. Still not here yet, but a it'll be a few weeks until I get worried. The rebate process was pretty ridiculous, had to write about ten different long numbers on the envelope, but it appears like it was accepted. Sounds like YMMV though.

My rebate said it was accepted and processed 3 months ago, but I still haven't gotten it. I sent them an email and they said "we got more responses than expected, but they're going out soon". This was about 3 weeks ago, and I still haven't gotten it.

eh, that's enough negative feedback on their rebate program to make me pass on this deal. Sounds good though.

From my experience, I'd say that 12 weeks is the minimum if you ever get the rebate.

one thing to note about Sapphire ... IF you ever need a RMA they have a $15 RMA "Processing Fee" SCAM on TOP of your usual expenses.
--of course, NewEgg exchanges it for the first year

that said, my Sapphire AGP x1950p/512m is running fine - the first ones had a high defective rate - and is FS in FS/T for about what this [pciE one] costs
[i got a HD2900xt and a 8800GTS 640M OC and am going to decide between them]

Just a little FYI, but I checked myrebates411.com today and finally it states the following...

Transaction ID = XXXXX Qualification Status = Qualified: Mail Received - In Process. This is the final status you will see until check arrives in approx 12-14 weeks.

Hopefully we'll see a check come through by the year's end...

Agreed. Sapphire rebates do not exist.

Yeah, I was shocked when my x1950 pro started to crash when playing games or 3DMark, and I contacted them and they have another company who does RMAs (Sapphire is a Chinese Company) and they charge $15 for it.

This is off-topic but can someone answer me this: does Newegg allow you to exchange the card even though you don't have the retail box anymore? It's still within the 1-year return period, I just must have misplaced the box
