I disagree. I don't want porn to be mainstream. Sure sex is normal but I don't want to see porn stars be in the mainstream. I think our culture is too sexualized as it is -- I don't see the need for 12 year olds to wear tee-shirts saying "I want to be a porn star when I grow up" or try to dress like their favorite porn stars in MTV or G4-Tech coverage of trade shows.

My whole point is that sex is natural. The hormones in human bodies are supposed to be there. The reason we are still so afraid of it is hardcore religious nuts telling us we need to be afraid of it.
In countries where sexuality is more open (like many in northern Europe) they dont have nearly as many issues as we do. Kids dont feel the need to wear porn star T-shirts because they arent being mentally and emotionally repressed by ignorant/fearful parents and teachers. Our culture is not over sexualized, WE ARE SEXUAL BEINGS! Thats just the way it is. You can embrace it in a healthy manner or try to stomp it. Our massive amounts of porn are an indicator of much larger problems in society. As are most other outlets for sexuality like strip clubs and Girls Gone Wild. Girls wouldnt feel much of a need to go wild if they hadnt grown up thinking sex was bad or naughty. I much prefer the European attitude about these things.
If we had healthier sexual attitudes the need for porn would diminish greatly. The only downside of this is all these porn actors would need to find other work. Given the amount of talent some of them exhibit, I would suggest flipping burgers.
